Heres probably a stupid question, but before I strip the casing off my 03 TXT Pro is the fitted flywheel weight removable, or will I need to buy a standard flywheel and swap it out? Cheers

Inch perfect had a few 2017 Gassers last week, looks promising, im still on a 2003 Gas Gas pro, and honestly couldnt think of anything id change on it.

Is the water pump propeller okay and spinning?

Forks rebuilt with new seals, all ready for my 5w oil arriving tomorrow , what is meant by leaving an "air chamber"? im guessing its a space of air space left in the forks after filling the oil (300ml each?) so that it can compress correctly, as the oil cannot be compressed??

I had a look but under the plastic there doesnt seem to be any nut to undo? theres some holes which look like oil ports but nothing to undo by the looks of it, heres a picture

Got the top and bottom bolt out, all oils out yet I cannot seem to get the internals (spring etc) out as I seen a video, they seem fixed? and to pull the seal out I need to pull on the station to drive it out right?

Thanks for all the comments, think I have got it now! however, the allen bolt at the bottom of the fork leg is extremely tight, will not budge at all, its just regular thread right? not backwards thread? I will put the forks in a vise later to try and get it open.

I tried following the video but heard I need to fill a cartridge in the right fork leg with oil for the dampening, shame that video isnt in english

Hi, I bought some fork seals to finally do my leaky forks, however I cannot find any guide online to breaking the forks and the process of oil and seals etc, am I abit out my depth here??

My dads Beta Techno was like you're describing, turns out it had 1 carbon reed and the other made out of a milk carton! was aweful to ride but with some new carbon fibre reeds its lovely and smooth. Maybe carb or reeds? try some dual stage boysons?

So its too snappy? you would prefer more linear power? maybe mess about with flywheel weights?

Fitted new rear wheel bearings, air filter, front mudguard, fresh gear oil and a smaller rear sprocket tonight, will be interesting to see tomorrow how much difference going from a 10-48 to a 10-42 will do to my riding on TXT Pro 200.

You genius! just gave it a try and worked perfectly! both bearings came out in about 30 seconds, I spent 2 hours tonight finding ways to get them out!! saved me £30 for a wheel bearing tool, this is why I love this community

I ordered some new rear wheel bearings for my txt pro and set about removing the old ones tonight. After some struggle I got the two spacers out to open the bearings up, however I have no way to remove the bearings as theres a centre spacer taking up the gap and is a smaller diameter than the bearing, so I cannot get any edge to knock the bearing outwards. Any help would be greatly apreciated as I want to get back out on the bike

Muc-Off bike cleaner and Ammo.243 degreaser (watered down by 50%), gets all the muck and oil off, after that spray with Muc-Off maintenance spray (basically WD40) to leave a nice shine on everything and makes the dirt come off easier next time

Recently as my riding has progressed I have started learning front wheel hops and static balance, but no matter how hard I try I just cant get the rear wheel off the ground, or even lift it trying to do an endo with alot of front brake, the front brakes powerful and im throwing my weight forward, but can only get maybe a couple centimeters off the ground. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi, recently we bought what was sold as a Beta 250, it had just had a top end rebuild but had a rough bottom end, after putting the top end on a spare bottom end we bought the piston looked very big for a 250, compared to my Gas Gas 200 piston it was huge. After riding the bike for a while it appeared very quick for a 250, and after todays ride while washing the bike off we noticed the barrel was stamped "352" after doing some research some websites say there was a 350 in 1997, our bike is a 97, however some say the 250 was the biggest. Any info would be great.

I planned to go but fallen ill with a winter bug! maybe catch you at the next trial, enjoy yourself and dont worry if you struggle, have to start somewhere! im a year in and still struggle with the beginners sections!

Hey, im new to trials and going to the same event at Aughertree, rode a couple of trials before this but struggled with the sections. What I found was best is to just have a play about at the start until most riders pass the first section, so not so many are watching you, or you can skip the first and head straight to the second, if its your first trial dont expect to finish it, just go and enjoy the ride. How much experience do you have so far on bikes?

The gassers have had similar engines since late 02 with the first pro models but with slight changes every year, cant improve on perfection lol

You will be fine with your current boots, I use Alpinestars Tech 6s on my trials bike for the added armour since I do alot of singletrack and really cant afford to get anything new/a second pair. You would be better off with proper trials boots, but I dont find im slipping off the pegs etc at trials and can compete fine (beginner)

+1 for the Sealmate I tried it tonight on my Gassers forks which I was 90% sure needed new seals, the tool took quite alot of grit out and now no leaks, happy days. Bare in mind the forks used to literally pour oil out, at the end of a ride the lowers were covered and it would be all over my front disc. One word of advice though, take the spring off the dust seal before removing to get to the oil seal, I must of spent 15 minutes trying before I realized

The club is very friendly and most of the club rated trials have easy enough sections for a beginner, hope to see you riding in the near future!

Did you get along to the trial today strugglinon? had some really nice beginner sections and weather was a nice change!
