  1. Not sure if it would seal around the threads good enough..but how about one of those rubber expandable frost plugs, they come in different sizes?? May leak around threads enough to vent if not over torqued ?

  2. Not trying to add more non-problems to your ''check out ''list, but make sure your fuel delivery hoses/ routing/pump is not causing your issues. Sherco did do some updates on later models because of fueling issues on that generation sherco..Splatshop had some relevant info on wsite. good luck

  3. The 28mm carb that Craig has is most likely the Dellorto VHST 28. It was the carb Sherco was using as its performance option during those years...Some years of those rear fuel tank models had intake manifold leakage/warp problems. The carbs were on quite an angle too, so the float levels need to be set accordingly to minimize flooding and rich fueling conditions...especially on down hills. Hope you get it sorted soon☺️

  4. Simplest I found is, just partially start bolt into swing arm location with the spring unattached to the tensioner arm (dont overtighten) .Now bend a tight small hook into a piece of welding rod or similar material and a larger loop grippable handle bend on other end. With this, if configured appropriately, you will see that you can now reach in and hook the tensioner arm end of the spring  and and attach it , then finish torquing the pivot bolt . Pretty straight forward as you should find as your looking at what needs to be accomplished. Hope this helps you.

  5. Seems like normal function by watching your clip there. The kickstart ratchet gear has a small ramp on it that slides in behind a metal tab and the casting is usually not very smooth and your bike is brand new. Try let your kick lever snap back on its own with the spring loaded...will loosen up with some use. :)

  6. This does indeed work on the Sherco too...but make sure all air is out of hydraulics and optimum free-play is adjusted out of the hand lever first and then you should find it is not generally necessary

  7. I find my bikes do need the half link to fit correctly and have never had a problem sourcing chain from a sherco dealer with the the half link pre-riveted into the loop. If you wish to omit the 1/2 link and your chainring is worn you could always resize by one tooth in either direction
