  1. Thanks for the opinions. Ill wait for 1 or two more guys who know the 125 to chime in, then ill spill the beans on what i have hear.
  2. I just went through all this. I had to rebuild my rear caliper and for the life of me still could not get a brake pedal Here is a tip from Ryan young that worked wonders and gave me a brake. With all the lines connected still take the rear master cylinder off and bolt it exactly where it goes but to the OUTSIDE of the frame. ITs like having a 3rd hand. Take a dull object like a larger phillips screwdriver and push the piston in a few times and hold it. DONT MOVE NOW Take a wrench and crack the banjo bolt loose on the top of the master cylinder and finish pushing the piston in until it stops. Tighten the banjo bolt and repeat. Do that 4 or 5 times and you will have a brake. I did mine every which way including back bleeding with a syringe and still could not get a brake pedal. Ryan told me this and it worked instantly Give it a shot!
  3. Hey all Please listen to this engine and tell me what you think Im not going to tell you the details of the engine until after i get a few opinions on it that way it does not change your opinion. Please only comment if you have or have had a 125. If your ridding a 300 and never even seen a 125 please don't say anything. The 125 always sounds different then a 300 so please don't comment with "well my (300,290,250,200) sounds like this". Im just trying to get some honest opinions here If you think it sounds just fine then say that too.
  4. I don't know what the pressure should be but i assume you mean after one kick? obviously the more times you kick it the higher you should read. I have an off topic question for you though. does your 125 sound like hell most of the time? Most 125,s i have heard always sound like crap compared to my 300 cabestany and other bigger bore bikes. Im trying to figure out if its normal or not. I also have an 08 125 besides my 300
  5. Whats wrong with a new ossa, they look really nice but I've never ridden one
  6. It i th Kehin carb on this bike 52 sound crazy to me also Im not sure why my local sherco said that is what to run but its throttle response is definatly crap. The other thing i noticed is the air screw is 3-4 turns out now with that giant pilot. I was also told if it takes that much air screw then the pilot is wrong
  7. I did think of that actually. No fly wheel weight though. I know the spacer ur talking about Mine does not have one i dunno, maybe its normal. Ive never ridden any other trials bike except mine so maybe its perfectly normal
  8. Thanks Just filled her up as directed and gave it ago Seems to run fine Im still trying to get a little bit more throttle response. Where are you guys typically setting the air screw on these bikes? I feel like my pilot just is insanely large My local sherco go told me to put a 52 pilot in because they like them super rich down bottom. Is that because we are hardly moving and the bikes is always really hot? If it were super hot and lean i could see that being an issue. Is that kinda the idea here? Right now I'm running 52 pilot, and 118 main. I ride 7-8k elevation regularly I just feel like its very slow revving compared to my ktm is all Like it sorta drags its ass to the top of the rpm range. Just installed a fresh plug also
  9. Got me a syringe today. Will give this a go and see if i can blow up my engine! Will get exactly 1 gallon and do exactly 48CC of oil Thanks for the help
  10. Cool thanks So seems like most of you are on the 70 or 80 to 1 program? The other issue i keep having is i oil leaking from my header pipe. I replaced the seal in there and it still does it. Its much much worse when i go into the mountains way up high where the bike is running very very rich so i know its a mixture issue. I rejetted and that helped the leaking a lot but still does it some. I think the root cause is my 50:1 mix
  11. nice! lucky girl! wish my dad bought me a new bike at 14! Your a great dad!
  12. Nice thanks for the info how did you figure out the calculation out of curiosity?
  13. so is it expected that my 50:1 feels like total crap?
  14. Ok so i must admit never run a bike this lean. Is 70:1 really the going ratio for these machines I tried my 50:1 i run in my KTM and i can just tell its to much. Its just oil every where and feels sluggish on throttle response. Does not smoke to bad on the 50:1 but i can just tell its to much Bike is properly jetted for my altitude My quick mix cup does not even go to 70:1 Is that what you guys are all running?
  15. What say you? Left or right side? I noticed mine was on the throttle hand but 90% i have seen on clutch hand? Is one more correct then the other? personal preference?
  16. Also had a great experience today I went to the local Sherco Guru here in Denver Bill over at Balance trials supplies. He helped me huge today! He gave me lots advice on setup, told me to get rid of the stupid risers and we spent some time talking about body position, bars, controls etc He also fixed me up with some fresh brake pads. Mine were all glazed over. He told me it looked like the bike had an easy life and was set up for trail riding not trials riding. Which would explain the glazed brake pads, bar risers and some other dumb things I also got me some bar ends and some proper trials grips. Picked up my first open face trials helmet and a nice Sherco Tshirt! I think I'm ready to rock out!
  17. Hey guys, thanks for all the suggestion I misspoke earlier, its not strait ATF i put in. Its the dex 3 actually. Someone told me the dex 3 will not be as "on/off" as regular atf. Regardless there is still some drag after trying it this morning but its much much improved over the crap that was in it. I might try the cross hatch pattern thing shown above also. I guess i can see some of yours point about not recommending this for a total noob. I think its fine for me however. after 25 years on bikes i do have many bad habits from go fast riding, but i also have 25 years of clutch and braking skills. Honestly i was thinking the bike was a little slow lol ( Shows that i know jack about trials bikes!!) I'm used to a 300 ktm. its a good thing this bike does not pull like my ktm or i would be scared The gears are so short 1-3 anyway that despite the torque, its very manageable for me. I did learn a valuable lesson this morning. I let my wife ride it, and she managed to wheelie it into a fence by grabbing some whiskey throttle. The bike is miraculously not even scratched. I can understand after seeing that this morning that this would be the way wrong bike in the hands of a total nooB. Seems great for my overall riding ability at moment. Plus I'm kinda hefty so a little more power for me helps. I was hoping she could ride it also but i can see already its to much for her. lesson learned. Thanks for all they great input. I appreciate all the help and great suggestions.
  18. Does not apply to me really but just wanted to say i applaud you for your effort and I'm sure this thread will help someone in the future!
  19. Congrats to you sir! Sharp looking bike you have there!
  20. Hello everyone! I saw the "introduce yourself" forum here and thought i would say hello Ive been riding mx and enduro since the age of 8 and have always been interested in trials. I started watching some trials videos from the blokes down under in Australia about a year ago (great videos by the way) and really started dreaming. For years i have suffered from horrible technical riding skills in slower technical terrain. I always blamed it on the fact that i have 29 inch legs (I'm short) and can't touch the ground most times on my KTM 300. Someone told me that all the best enduro riders are former trials champions! So here i am! Ready to learn and be humbled by a wonderful new aspect of motorbikes! I found myself a 2011 Sherco 300 Cabestany replica for sale locally and stuck that in the stable next to my KTM. I have had it about 24 hours and really looking forward to getting back to the basics. Clutch control, brake control, balance etc etc and breaking all my bad go fast habits! If there is anyone local in denver that is looking for a riding pal or knows of any good riding locations for a NOOB please let me know. Happy to be here and this looks like a wonderful forum with lots of great information. Cheers! Bobby
  21. Well just for kicks this afternoon and because i could not get the maxima stuff that Sherco recommends until tomorrow i stuck 450CC of ATF in there on the recommendations of a few Sherco owners. WOW! What a difference The clutch is 80% better then before. I would say its almost to smooth! I can see that if you progress to needing to dump the clutch hard to jump up large steps in this sport you would want a harder clutch hit then what I'm getting with the ATF now but for me this is perfect. it engages much much smoother now and has much less drag. Its nice and smooth and should teach me proper clutch control and help improve my balance since it won't be jerking all over the place now! In all my enduro bikes i can put almost anything in them and they seem to behave the same way. Who woulda thought that these bikes were this sensitive to gear oil? Very happy now! Managed to work out a few 3rd gear wheelies and some basic lock turns. Got a nice burn on my leg from the pipe. That will teach me to ride in the front yard with out proper gear on. I see some trials boots in my future. Tomrrow i will warm it up, dump that ATF and load it with fresh ATF again. I figure the stuff in there now is basically just getting rid of left over MotorX stuff and cleaning the gears up. So ill dump it tomorrow refill with ATF and then get after it! Thanks for all the info guys and helping the rookie a bit
  22. yea I'm not really sure on use level. It looks very new as if it has not seen much abuse. the clutch plates looked nearly new
  23. Thank you sir! I must admit, although most of it is non functional, all the little things on the bike do make it really look nice! When i took the clutch apart i did not notice any grooves on the hub but its a simple operation to take apart again and double check. I have been struggling to find a service manual to get torque specs. Any ideas? I have found owners and parts manuals but no service manual. I torqued the clutch spring retaining bolts to 6ft lbs just as a guess from my ktm specs. So if there are no grooves in the basket, clutch is properly bled, then what. I just rode it for about 15 minutes. What a kick in the pants this thing is! The clutch did loosen up after it got nice and hot but it stalled on me once with in the first 6-7 minutes because the drag is so bad. Like i said about sometimes during testing, ill pump the clutch a few times before i come to a stop. That seems to help a little Part of me wants to try and track down a rebuild kit for both the master and slave hmmmmmmm
  24. thanks any ideas on the clutch? i also have been trying to find a service manual for torque specs and other stuff but can only seem to find a owners manual
