Yea i agree thats my second time that ive seen one. But from what i have been reading their better than the montesa but the montesa is better buit and is more reliable. But at every trial lately in the past couple years montesa 4rts have dramatically increased due to the 0% finance on the montesas. I was at a trial yesterday it was very wet extremely muddy and all the 4rt where ploughing through it with ease. But the owner of the beta 4t had a montesa he says the beta is better. But the main problem is nobody is really wanting to let you test ride their pride and joy. I can understand why. But their is no dealers over here with a demo bike so you can test ride them.

Hi i was up at a local big trial and i seen a 2015 beta 300 4t what is the price of parts on beta, iwas told they where expensive is this true i have heard they are better than the montesa 4rt 260 cota. Could you give me your opinion.
  4. Yea just found out their may be a vertigo dealer in Nortern Ireland actualy it might be my local dealer. But im looking forwrd to testing the vertigo and trs they would need to good to stop me from going for the new sherco or montesa especialy the sherco dam it looks good and rides awsome.
  5. I was just wanting to thank everyone for taking an interest. Im very interested in the montesa but im considering the new vertigo but their is no dealer in Northern Ireland. So getting a test ride isnt really possible. I am getting a test ride on the trs in mid January. I am looking forward to it. I am going to try as many bikes as possible to help me decide its the only way. I have already tested some of the 2016 bikes.
  6. Fajardo i might be wrong here he is with vertigo
  7. I have to admit montesa 300rr looks awsome but no one has one over here to test ride. The dealer for montesa doesn't even have one. I heard its great. It is the same problem with the vertigo because their is no dealer in Northern Ireland . I have booked a test ride on the new trs in mid January and i contacted vertigo but i have had no reply. I am trying to get a test ride on all the bikes i am considering.
  8. Thank you all for the advice!
  9. Thanks do you think i could get equally good results on a montesa compared to my sherco. I dont really like the look of the repsol but i suppose it would grow on me. Whats your opinion of the repsol compared to the standard cota.
  10. Would it still be just as easy to throw the bike around compared to a sherco as an example. The breaks are very good on them as well as the suspenesion this should hopfully make it easier. I thought the extra weight would help give it a better grip. But does the new mapping on the montesa cota 2016 make it easier to adjust
  11. I have heard the montesa 4rt only has one problem finding grip. Is the new montesa 4rt any better at this because of the new mapping. At a local trials they said the grip was unbelieveable on the 2016 montesa 4rt cota. I was told by my local dealer the montesa 4rt arent good at climbing up muddy grassy mounds. The only other thing that is putting me of buying a montesa is the weight. I mean is it still easy to bouce it around. I know their is a lot of things you can do to improve your grip. But is it necessary with the new models and is the repsol worth the extra money over the standard cota. I have tried the cota and it was great. Many thanks
  12. Yea thanks im just worried because im so used to my 290 that i might feel it wont be as good Many thanks
  13. Hi i was just wonder what is you opinion on the new sherco and what is the 300 like ive tried to 250. I am worried about getting 250 as i think it wouldnt be powerful enought as a 300 would be easy to get up very steep mounds. I ride a 2011 290 sherco and i think the power is great many thanks

Yea but is it worth that amount of money like the standard cota £5500 the repsol £7000 we all thought the repsol was expensive. Dont get me wrong it looks great but the price of the standard model and the quality you couldnt go far wrong . The main problem is theres no place where you can get a test ride on the 300r This is in my opinion
  15. dwb5151 replied to dwb5151's topic in Montesa
I was told by my local dealer £8400 which in my opinion is a lot of money for a trials bike when you compare it to the rest of the bikes
  16. dwb5151 replied to dwb5151's topic in Montesa
yea the 300 rr may look great but is it worth £8400

Yea i have been attending events but with recent weather ie it being to wet hardly anyone turns up. My son rides his bike every weekend and in summer all the time.he had a go on a 2014 montesa cota which he thought was great but this was on tarmac not wet muddy ground. He said it just rides like a 2 stroke but more sippery which he likes.

i know the montesa is bullet prove but i am worried about adjusting to it and grip. But the new models come with the maping and apparently the grip is unbelievable now so i am very considering going for one. But i dont mind learning to adjust on how to ride a 4 stroke. This bike is mainly for my son he is a very good rider for his age he currently rides a sherco 290 2011 which he likes but he hates the rear fuel tank. He is very interested in a 4t he would be happy with the new standard montese or the new sherco. Would be younger make it easier to adjust to a 4 stroke many thanks

I am considering to go for a montesa 4rt but theirs a problem.I have had a go on the 2014 montesa 260 cota but i haven't had a go on any of the new models. I know montesa are great bikes their very reliable and so on. Is the cota rr worth £8400 and is the repsol worth £7000. Is it worth going the extra money and going for the repsol over the standard cota. The only other bike i have considered is the new sherco 250 2 stroke which i have test rode I have owned 2 strokes which where both sherco but i am willing to learn how to get used to a 4rt many thanks I thought the 2014 montesa cota 260 was great as well as the new sherco
  20. Northern Ireland
  21. I think i'll play it safe and go for the new sherco. There is no point in me going for the 4rt its not worth the risk. I might not be able to get used to the way it rides. Thanks for the advice.
  22. I have been riding trials bikes for 3 years i don't compete but i will eventually go into competitions when i feel more confident. I am willing to learn on how to ride a four stroke but i have never owned a 4 stroke bike i have always been 2 strokes but still i am still very interested in a 4 stroke but i would be happy enough with a 2 stroke. I was talking to someone at a local trials competition and he was riding the 2016 montesa 4rt cota and he says the grip is unbelievable because of the new mapping. But the new sherco is amazing in my opinion im just not sure on which one i would be happier with.
  23. Hi am in a dilemma i am not sure on what bike to for. Its between a 2016 sherco 250 and a 2016 montesa cota 4rt I have tried the 2016 sherco and i thought it was great but i havent tried the 2016 montesa i have only tried the 2014 cota which i thought was great. Would it be worth going the extra money to get the cota 4rt or should i just go for the sherco. I have had 2 sherco's a 2004 200 and a 2011 290 I liked the 2004 but i am not fused on the 2011 Many thanks
