    2013 Evo 125

I don't know if it's quieter, but t is very mellow sound,2t sound loud when you are next to them but the sound doesn't carry,my 250 is quieter than a lawn mower, first time I starter it i thought i can practice balance in the garden and the neighbours won't bother

    2013 Evo 125

my 250 four stroke is so quiet you can ride it in the garden it's quieter than a lawn mower
  7. it was replaced with o-ring kit, bike running well now
  8. ok all good nowstripped the carb and fond some debris underneath the float needle brass housing, unscrewed it and was muck in there, probably running the best it has now,Thanks for all the advice
  9. theff float needle was getting stuck open and peeing fuel from carb, clean it up, it might be getting stuck closed starving the float?
  10. ok i left it for a couple of hours and it started and seemed to rev and settle but then wouldn't ,got all fluffy on the throttle and died so i think it's the carb and not the points/timing.as it got hotter i would have thought air leaks might have sealed a bit. any further thoughts?
  11. ok the oil feed it blocked off the tube had a hole in it but i thought it was perished so i replaced it with a new pipe,i'll put a hole in it,pilot jet is not blocked.i haven't checked the timing, the inlet manifold looks good. Thanks for the replies, it was a bugger to start but was fine when warm, maybe an air leak or gasket?
  12. Hi all I have a TY and whe i first got it it was a bugger to start, anyway i fitted a O-rng kit off evilbay and the bik started better and seemed to run better, the float needle was prone to sticking but i have cleaned everything I could and it still was a bad starter but once warm was fine.it sat for a month with the carb drained and i cant start it now,it runs for a bit on the choke but won't run off choke, have a good spark and wet fuel on plug so its getting through, any suggestions? is ther an sir screw position that is best? we've had the carb apart several times and it's got us stumped. when i got the bike there was a tube thatwas connected to the choke side and ran under the carb and connnected to a fitment on the oter side? is that right as it looks in pictures that there are two seperate tubes one on each side as drains???? should they be connected by a single tube?
  13. Ok I will check for the ball bearing ad I did the job with the bike laying on it'd side so maybe if it's not there I will get one . Unfortunately I don't have the parts I replaced they were in such bad condition and as I bought a complete clutch from a TY specialist and it was all yamaha wrapped I didn't consider it wouldn't be correct. I guess I could slack the springs off and see if it's them . without running the bike just to see if springs are too hard. I will check the adjuster for wear. Annoying as I'm selling it and just trying to get it as it should be

  15. forgive me for this simple question but the clutch on my TY seems really heavy,i have fitted a all Yamaha O/E parts as follows clutch cable plates steels springs I had a tang on the basket repaired and refitted. in the manual it says back the cable off remove LH engine cover loosen adj nut and screw in adj screw all way in ,take up slack with middle cable adj the wind adj screw out till it stops the back of a further 1/8 turn and lock the nut, take up remaining slack with middle cable adj and adj on clutch lever bracket. problem is nearly all if not all adj on cable is taken u and clutch still feels v heavy, what am i doing wrong?
  16. maybe as it's on an old bike I'd just run it,if it starts to get noisy or vibrates really badly then deal with it, old bikes cost as much as new ones to repair so i tend to fix them when they break,In the old days I used to burn money on things like this when it'd usually didn't need it
  17. it would have to be my Honda RC30,that bike sounded beautiful from warm up idle to 12000 r/pm and my 1968 Porsche 911 fitted wth a 2.2tuned engine coming back from LeMan at 6 a.m my Honda 1993 RS250R open class racer round Oulton Park.
  18. why not get a beta 250 4T if you liked it?
  19. this is a worthwhile mod? eve if you don't alter the head angle?
  20. what is the lenght of standard swing ar/m,i would like to measure mine to see if it's been done

    4T Or 2T

I was looking for a 2016 Beta 200 but they are rare 2nd hand.I've decided on the 2013 250 4T the one i have seen is local and one owner from new .he's 72 and it's a Southern U.K bike. i was watching the 4t's crawl up stuff the other day without effort and i don't aspire to be a hopping/6 ft jumper, just want to play and like to be different, seeing as i have ltd experience on trials i think i'll adapt to a 4t as i won't have any preconceptions. looking forward to it,just have to wait until the broken collar bone from last weeks enduro race heals.

    4T Or 2T

i think i'm more of a roll on/off rider rather than trying to fire up stuff, and i like low end power that builds, i think a 4t could work,my mates on their 2t's don't have huge skills and often find the 2t 300's they ride getting away from them as the revs rise

    4T Or 2T

Hi all,i've been knocking about for the last year on a TY175,which i plan tokeep and have been looking at another bike and like Beta as i have their enduro 300.I am thinking about a 250 4T or a 250 2T. i like the idea of the mellow delivery of the 4T and i will never be more than a wobbler/novice,all my mates say 2T but i'm on the fence please share as i've seen a clean 4T and they don't come up often.
  24. cheers for the heads up shipdmite,i will chech the pilot jet,It is running much better since the carb O ring swap over, bust respraying the tank atm
  25. i've ordered points, condenser and a manual, forgot spark plug,I did put a plug on from another bike and tried that with no spark, the plug looks new as do the points throught the inspection hole,I have ordered a puller to get at the points as well, as it was running fluffy i have ordered a set of O-rings for the carb
