  1. Hi thank you for your replys. The lever is not bent as to my knowledge but will check again that everything is ok. I must admit that i found it a little strange that the lever has tension one way but not the other, (it has tension down i.e to 1st) I thought his could possibly be a distorted spring rather than a broken one?? As if it was broken i would imagine that you would hear it in gearbox?? I don't know though. I will look into the broken weld though as that seems like an possible cause. Thanks again guys. Miles P.s. Do you think/know that i will be able to get to the selector arm and spring etc... by removing the clutch cover and basket? Will it be behind there or will i need to remove whole right hand crankcase cover, kickstart, waterpump etc?
  2. Hi, at the weekend when riding I lost my gears after dropping the bike. I now only have 2 gears (1st and 2nd), if I rock the bike I can get 3rd and 4th but not whilst moving. I instantly came up with the most common idea, which is that the selector spring has broken or distorted as the selector has tension one way but is
  3. Im pretty sure thats a gasser?? Correct me if im wrong though! Milky
  4. Yup i know power isn't everything...just after riding the 290 it just seemed so much nicer than my 250. it had a better power curve and more torque/grunt and seemed to find grip easier (perhaps it was to do with a better rear shock). I can easily control the power even though at times it may 'run away' from me but im not worried about that!! Anyways i already ride bike trials not a mission or an onza but a gorgeous 26" Brisa! I do find that it really does help my riding technique though. Does anybody know what the rules/restrictions are when it comes to engine size for a 16/17 year old??? Cheers Milky
  5. Hello, im 16 (17 in May) and i ride an 03 250 SHERCO. As far as im aware i can continue to ride a 250 without getting caught up in all this 125 nonsense! But yesterday i rode a 290 and loved it to bits and im just wondering how old do i have to be to ride anything over a 250??? I would like it to be 17...but i don't think it is...so could anybody tell me what are the exact rules are to riding 125/250/290 at 16/17...because i'm want to get an 05 soon and not sure if i can get a 290 (and put 250 stickers on!!!) or just get another 250. I ride under ACU, AMCA & YMSA if that makes a difference to the rules so could you please tell me that too!! Lots of questions i know but i'm really confused! Thanks for any help in advance. Milky
  6. Does anybody know what is actually done to the bikes?? i know different riders have different preferences of power delivery and power curves etc. But is there anything that is totally different to standard bikes??? Milky
  7. In my opinion...SHERCO is the best bike! Based upon my experiences, overall it tends to be the most reliable and easy to ride bike, also mine always comes up like new (unluck Gas Gas...ahem!! - although these ride as well as they break...which is very well/alot). It seems to me that SHERCO have tried to take all the best bits from all the bikes and have suceeded to make a fantastic trials bike that can be ridden well by all riders...regardless of age and riding ability/level...this is probably to the five or so different sized engined bikes that all fit snuggly inside the same chassis, giving a wide variety of choice . But other companys do this aswell (Beta, Gas Gas), then again, you cant beat a good old Honda or Yamaha or even Beta engined bike. So basically, just ride as many as you can and then you are faced with the hardest decision of which one you like the most! Hint - SHERCO are very good ! (If you choose Gas Gas you have to be quite a good mechanic ) Please don't tell me off for insulting Gas Gas ever so slightly! Good Luck Milky
  8. Cheers for the help so far...i like the RAW stuff. So does anyone know if the sherco suits are still made and where i can get one from???? Also will any 2005 gear be coming out? And when will that be???? Thanks very much! Milky
  9. I am thinking of getting a one piece suit and i was wondering if you could actually buy the sherco suit and if their is a 2005 suit out yet available in quite a small size...any ideas of price and where to get them from. Or any other suits like the RAW Sports ones...are these any good???? Do you think a RAW Sports suit would go with a 2005 SHERCO??? Because after all image is everything!!!! Thanks very much. Miles

    05 Sherco

kool...im lookin to get a 250 '05 in a month or so! Did you ride a sherco before? So are there any big differences between the rides and performance? Im currenty running a 250 '03 which i've had from new and love it to bits...do you think i wil find it hard to get used to an '05 250? Or just the same with different graphics, new tyres, air filter and brake pads...etc!!! Cheers Miles
  11. Cheers for all your help wayne! Thanks Miles
  12. Yeh i ride biketrials too...it really helps me to perfect techniques when riding my sherco. I would recommend it to anyone but.......motorcycle trials is by far much better!!!!! (in my opinion!)
  13. Thanks wayne. Wil see you there...hopefully. So i dont need an ACU licence to ride then...cos you run under the AMCA too...? Miles
  14. Hi could somebody please tell me what govening body runs this club. By that I mean like is it ACU? AMCA? etc..... Thanks Miles

    Honda Help

Hi. Just wanted some help. My dad is making his own exhaust system for his Fraser Honda 185, he is having trouble with getting the correct amount of back pressure in the system. We would be very grateful with any hints and/or tips from people who know anything about exhaust system design or have made any exhausts themselves, for a four stroke. Thanks very much Miles Carruthers
