It's a pi$$ take that this event is even going ahead. My wife rang the arena earlier on and they said the car park is definatly closed, so when she asked what alternative was being made they said all they could recommend was the park and ride from Meadowhall but even that wasn't guaranteed, she then asked why the event wasn't cancelled and they said because the promoters didn't want too and it was their choice to go ahead, money being put in front of safety in my eye's. Typical Yorkshire man, tight as a crabs a***!

don't worry i'm not a plant for the promoter! i have pretty much nothing to do with trials nowadays, i just thought it was a bit strange there hadn't been much fuss made over the possible world round. but i suppose like you say its a long time off. i hope it comes off though, save the cumbrian folk a long journey to watch the worlds best in action!!

how come this hasn't been front page news, would have thought it was a pretty big story myself? when the world round came back to hawkstone 3 years ago the whole of trials central seemed to go barmy over it. is it because L&M arent promoting it?

hi there, best place for you to practice fairly locally is fell green up at bootle. it's where the bootle club run most of there trials. there's also top o cross, but only certain people seem to be able to use this land, better off at bootle really.

I had the same problem with a Dave Cooper bike rack that i used to have. like you say, it looks crap on the back of your car. i painted mine with exterior black paint, looked a lot better for it!!

i too sold a bike on e bay in february of this year, an immaculate 2005 250 sherco. the guy came to pick it up as arranged, started it up and gave it a really good check over, obviously knew what he was doing and after doing this he was over the moon with the bike and took it away, everyone was happy, we both left positive feedback for each other. 3 weeks later i get a email of him saying the fan has packed up and the main bearings were knackered. he had got a quote for the work from his local dealer and said i should pay half of it as it must have been knackered when i sold it to him, and that if i didnt he would report me to e bay for false descriptions!! i told him he was talking B*****ks and it wasnt my problem, he had just been unlucky. later that day i got a email off ebay saying i had been reported and that my ebay account and my paypal account had been frozen while they investigated the claim. and that the investigation could take upto 14 days! both parties had to give their stories and ebay would take it from there. 2 days later ebay cleared me of anywrong doing and said the problem was the new owners. so just beware, there are some right cheeky bast@rds out there!!

Theres quite a few clubs around your way, youve got Barrow and District mcc, Bootle scrambles club, Westmorland motor club, Lakes grass track and as somebody else said lancs county mcc. All these clubs have multi class trials which arent too bad for a beginner. If you buy Trials and Motocross news they all advertise in the regs section. If you go on www.barrowanddistrictmcc.co.uk , im sure there is information on how to join that club, and dates of their trials, hope this helps.

your right it must take a hell of of a lot of organising, well done to all. the only thing that lets it down year after year is parents of riders getting in the way of other riders who are riding the sections. they shouldnt be in the section till it is there riders turn. barry said this at the riders meeting at start of day 2 yet my brother still got baulked 4 times on his first lap, which wound him up no end. can remember it happening to me last year so i rode into them on purpose and they have the cheek to give you a dirty look!! it always seems to be the same ones too.

What!, you dont like the noise of the 4rt. Thats half the fun of owning one, they sound great. cant agree with that sorry, they sound *****! at least i dont ride trials anymore so i dont have to listen to them!! surely honda can make them a bit quieter ?

the front discs are floating discs, so there will be a bit of movement there.

andy_290, didnt mean you sorry thought it was the name daggs888 that won that auction, it wouldnt have been a scam as the seller has a motorcycle business but your right, you can never be to safe nowadays

remember seeing that sherco with black rims on ebay, arent you the person that won the auction for a 2005 250 but then let them down last minute?

dont drown bikes me, tend to keep out of the deep stuff got a good mate who is also a mechanic (and son of a sherco dealer) and he said there was nowt wrong with the bike. as andy290 said, you have been unlucky. glad you have now got the cracking bike like i always knew it to be!!
