  1. Hi,

Possibly looking at getting some Hebo boots, but local shop does not hold stock. how do they come up size wise??

    I'm an 8 1/2 shoe so would probably look at a 43

My old Sidi boots are an 8 and feel snug when I wear them now. Any experiences of sizing with Hebo?

  2. Mmmmmm weird...

I'd say from the pictures it is a 2012 factory but they were only 280cc had black frame, silver fork clamps, Termigoni carbon back box, Marzocchi forks, red footrests, cylinder head etc as yours has

Factory R in 2013 was first 300cc but had green frame, gold fork clamps Termigoni carbon back box and Marzocchi forks - why paint frame, change clamps etc etc
Factory R in 2014 also 300cc had green frame, black fork clamps, Termigoni back box and Tech forks so probably not a 2014 - why paint frame, change forks and clamps etc etc

    I'd guess almost certainly 2012 and a 280cc NOT 300cc

That's exactly my settings, but have had a 128 main which works better on a 250 if I remember correctly? Pretty sure I moved the needle one notch too.

The biggest gain is the 3 slide.

Just a thought you haven't got after market adjusters have you?

Recommend putting a 3 slide in then Andy?

Where you getting all these extra observers at club level to hold a stop watch? Unfeasible

Hold a stopwatch?? How many extra do you need??
surely any observer on their own could press start on a stopwatch and when it beeps its time up.

  5. Was on at midnight on Monday.. bit late for when this was posted.
For some reason when you search (on Sky) it doesnt appear under 'Trial' 'Trial GP' 'FIM' etc etc.

I just went to Free Sports on the EPG and scrolled through.
Coverage was OK, literally 1 section for top 5 or so trial2 riders and same for all Trial GP riders.

Shame as an hour would be easily filled

Are we talking Transit proper, or smaller Transit Connect ??. I 've got an L1 H1 SWB Transit Custom, with a bulkhead & can get 4 trials bikes in it with ease. Same for MX.

Very different story if you are talking Transit Connect. If its the Connect, then you need to go for the LWB High roof. (Previous model best option. Current model has quite a low roof). My son has an 08 LWB High roof Transit Connect with aftermarket bulkhead,  & gets 2 trials bikes in it with ease. MX,  Enduro, not as easy. Only 1 MX will go in without much bother.

SWB  Transit Connect SWB Low roof harder work. IMO. You do see them at events though. Loading up Small vans have the problem of Jammed fingers, bars whacking the roof, poor access, etc, etc. You can get a trials bike in most small vans, but it can be a bit of a chore.

proper transit but double cab (5 seats) with bulkhead

Do you mean a double cab Transit Custom?

If so whilst I haven't ever tried it, I've read that someone can get two enduros in one with the bulkhead removed, which would suggest that two trials bikes should fit even with the bulkhead in place.

I'm thinking of buying one at the moment and looked at an L2 at a dealers today. The bulkhead is actually curved in at the bottom which might help and the sales guy, who actually knew what a Sherco trials bike was, reckoned two would fit. The bulkhead looks to be easily removed if necessary and the seats could also be removed as there's only eight bolts holding them in place. Although they're pretty heavy by all accounts.

If you try, or buy, one please report back?

    Hi,

Yes a double cab transit (5 seats) with bulkhead in.

Looking at the lengths of bike and load length in Transit suggests it is just too short to get them in straight, however assume with wheel angled slightly would be ok.

I don't need to do a survey my personal experience illustrates things perfectly.  I buy an 18 racing for £6399 in july, go to upgrade this week and told by a dealer my trade value is £3500 due to the fact the importer has discounted his remaining stock of brand new 18 models to circa 5K. Dealer says why would I give you any more, I can't sell it because the importer has undermined the market!  Look at the disparity in the figures that has created. The amount of discount he is offering to get rid of stock has proportionally impacted the figure I can reasonably expect to achieve as a trade in. It's simple economics or as the experts define it, the science of self interest!

1: you probably didn't pay £6399, especially in July with 19's a mere couple of months away - if you did then your dealer didn't help you at all and saw you coming

2: if your dealer is only offering £3500 then as mentioned elsewhere your dealer (possibly again) saw you coming and is fleecing you

3: think all the 18's now gone so you could see your rise a bit in value

  9. Currently have a LWB Vito Dualiner and can get 2 bike in easily by rolling the rear seat forward.

Am looking at a L2 (think that's Fords name for LWB) Transit but they have a bulkhead and the load length is a bit shorter than the length of a trials bike. Assume they would probably go in with front wheel turned etc but before I look any further thought I'd check - does anyone on here use a L2 transit with a bulkhead and gets 2 (or more) bikes in?
If so, how? angled bars, cut a gap in bulkhead etc etc?

    TIA
    Nick

  10. Went for a practice for couple of hours today and now have really sore / achy knees. First time on bike since October (I’d guess) so am assuming this is a combination of total lack of riding - 2 evening trials in 2018 and 2/3 of a centre champ round before torn calf muscle stopped play - and age combining as a double whammy to tag team me in the knees.

Will ice knees tonight and hopefully cure

Any remedies to help this for future reference? Or should I just not ride at all and avoid the knee issues ???

Hard enduro is much more en vogue than trials these days, I have to admit I find it more entertaining to watch than WTC ... maybe that's just where the money is drifting to?

    Definitely more money in enduro.
Look at the good riders that have left WTC to ride enduro as was costing them too much to compete.
Normally, what you'd call fringe riders who on their day could pump in a decent 6th, 7th place but normally 10-15th. Not getting paid, not getting costs covered but having the skill set needed to succeed in enduro and earn some ££ must be an easy decision

  12. 1st January 2019 and Benoit Bincaz leaves Scorpa and signs for Beta for TrialGP

Lorenzo Gandola leaves Scorpa and signs for Vertigo for Trial2

think that leaves Aniol Gelabert flying the orange flag in WTC in 2019. Another manufacturer struggling or just not wanting / needing to pump €€€ at WTC
