From what I ca see it is NOT a Future bike it is a normal bike with some Future trick bits.
I'm not a Montesa fan anyway and cannot be bothered to cross reference the standard Mont with a Future Mont and then re-cross reference with this bike.
Anyway, who gives a rats @rse whose bike it was? It's not like a current WTC superstar rode it, won on it and had everything put back as brand new and it's still done the worlds longest and toughest trial.
Bou has said his bike will be different at the next round, maybe we'll see something then?
Bl**dy hope so!
As someone else said you could get an 05 Mont, buy some stickers and pretty much make it look like a 'new' one.... Thats just lazy on Montesa's part....
Oh and I agree, that Honda dont need to spend as Bou is winning everything, however as a business, Honda (you would assume) will be making money from trials, however insignificant an amount so surely they should be looking at a new model by now....
todotrial have bike on their site (do they not playby the rules?) and Gas Gas had it in Germany with Raga so surely they now want to allow people to see/hear about it.
I would guess they are allowed to ride the SSDT but would assume it comes down to 'do they want to do the SSDT'
It is not really going to offer them (factory or riders) a WTC style trial due to section layout, rules, length of each day etc + and possibly most important at this time, it is a long way to go for the Spanish / Italian manufacturers and at a very big cost to them whereby the trials you mention are effectively 'on their doorstep'
Would be great to see a full quota of WTC riders there though!
Re-Sheffield, let us know who you want to be commentator, I only do the job becouse no one else wanted it!! I admit that as the years go on I am getting more out of touch.
Awwww bless ya
Jeez cant believe I'm agreeing with Dabster again but - you're absolutely fine at Sheffield, you've ridden it and you ridden at british, european and world championship level and know what needs to be done, when and how.
Looks like they're going back to the old school to and only doing this as a 125 and 300cc like the early Raga Reps (think 2003-2007 was only 300) so no 250 or 280
Pics on todo trial website and I suspect elsewhere also
As for the rest of the of the grid I look forward to finding out.
Gutted that it's not being held in Bangor/northern Ireland any more. Especially with the amount of spectators and even money it brought to the town, you would have thought that the town/council would have been eager to get it back.. But what can you do?
Still in two minds weather to go over to fort William as it's only a one day event :/
What do use reckon?
You could be right there.
re: towns/councils - GOD KNOWS there is a UK mentality that motorbikes and events are bad. That gives our gentile sport a bad rep therefore getting permission etc to run a WTC round is lots of aggro. because motorbikes means noise, disruptions, speeding and trouble.
As for Fort William - I'm def not going for 3 reasons
1: its only a 1 day event
2: see above (and thats with Fort William having a good understanding of trials etc and laying on cracking events.
3: I'm 99% going to Andorra now - its a 2 day event, I can get and stay there for less than getting to Fort William, the trial will take over the whole town pretty much and atmosphere etc will be great and 100% trial for the whole event.
I think Ossa's sales have been good from the below but they are putting pressure on the local government to splash the cash or face the prospect of them shutting the factory and relocating. This way its not Ossa's fault as they will blame the local govenrment/council
Am guessing not many expecting to see Toni Bou overhauled this year, so 1st place is pretty much a given I expect.
But what and who do we think from 2nd down? these places consist currently of very well established riders with all of the major players (2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th places) bar Fajardo having been on the WTC scene for 12+ years now so -
Will anything major change in 2011?
Will one of the Brits get amongst Raga, Fuji, Fajardo and Cabestany?
Will there be any mega stars emerging in 2011?? I personally think Pol Tarres will go big this year
Will anyone other than Bou even win a round in 2011?
I know what you mean about looking similar to the Beta- If you get on it and the kick starter is missing- you accidently got on the Beta next to it!
But remember ALL this is still just teaser info and we dont know anything for sure until the 'official' announcement is made from GasGas- I thought it came out about May 15th last year.
Notice that the sneak preview's top view had the left side photoshopped away like there was something they didnt want shown yet- must still be negotiating with S3 on the foot pegs! You gotta wonder if the all this is planned just for hype. Works on me!
Yea same here, my anticipation is growing... getting excited now like a kid at christmas
Still not sure theres enough about it to warrant the extra
Reiger shock on new Raga Rep - any good?
in Gas Gas
Posted
Anyone out there lucky enough to have the new Raga Rep and able to comment on the Reiger shock??
Interesting to see what people say.
Heard they are a lot of money so would hope that money is worth while.
