As well as air filter treatment work out the position of the filter relative to the mudguard & silicone a rectangle quite thick on the mudgaurd to provide a seal or use thick draught excluder & it will stop 90% of the crap getting in. (its what scorpa use in the team bikes)

Having just changed from an 02 Sherco 290 to an 04 Scorpa 250 i find the gearing a bit fast, i have an 11t front & a 38t rear as fitted & a spare 42t from the sherco which i want to know if it is a straight swap or not. Any advice appreciated
