  1. When on tick over nearly cuts out ,i have to rev to stop engine stalling. But when giving it some power the engine does not miss a beat, but as soon as i shut off the engine sounds as though its searcing for more fuel.

Never worked on this type of carburettor before, there is only one screw which i belive to be the air screw. The carb on other bike had fuel & air screw. Can anyone give me some guidance on what to do or what to check , Thanks :wall:

  2. As the title says mine have bust on my 2010 300 raga fitted with Marzocchi forks, can anyone give me any tips , or the order in which to perform said task.....Can the action be performed in garage / shed or is it a visit to local trials shop ? with my wallet..

Just been quoted £70 for the pair if i take the forks in not the bike.

  3. hey

if u are running fast between sections put it on sun or the bike could overheat (not enough pre ignition)

the difference is not that great at low revs but on high revs there is a difference i only use sun setting on my bike but thats a 250

    best regards

Sounds like ive bought a monster !!! but when i ride it from now on seems the sun is always going to shine on me Ha Ha..

Thanks for all your replys :guinness:

  4. Definitely agree re: ATF, its all I've used in my Gassers.

Best bet for draining is to get the bike warm so that the oil is thin and will drain easier and quicker. You'll probably get more out too.

Re quantity: as mentioned book says 550ml but that's madness. As mentioned fill to half way or just over half way up the glass window - obviously ensuring the bike is sat totally flat - this will probably equal around 450ml

Best bet is fill it, run the bike till its hot, stop it and put back on totally flat surface, wait for oil level to settle in glass window and see where it is then.

Re: oil for your petrol I have always ran mine at 80:1 and they're fine although you can run a bit richer if you like but I've never ran one at 50:1

Always make sure you use a good fully synthetic oil and I always use Shell V Power (higher octane)

You may need to adjust some of the carb settings depending on how you will run the bike oil-fuel mixture wise and how it has been ran previously oil-fuel mixture wise.

Other than that should be fine.

Thanks for replys, like you all say half full check glass window, run till engine hot then re-check and any amount from 350 to 550ml it seems been told to use light gear oil, But you all say ATF Dextron . Where to buy and cheapest place please. Also was told to use putoline fully synthetic oil at 65ml to 5 litre of petrol dont know what ratio thats is.What benifit will Shell V Power oil give me ?

  5. Most people use ATF DextronIII oil, takes about 350ml or fill to halfway in the sight glass. I fill mine then run a few minutes and check it when settled.

Forget the owners book it is full of mistakes!

It says put 550ml in the gearbox (it wont go in!) and it also says petrol mix 50:1 when between 65:1 or 75:1 is what works well.

Cheers Rich for reply, what other mistakes may i need to know ?

  6. Having recently bought 300 raga , i would like to change filters and oil.....Question Which oil ? suits my bike.

And if you have any other info that might help me along the way, it will be gratefully received..

    Thanks
