cheers for the replies people, i like the look of that quarry place, thats exactly what i mean. also are there any byways that would be good for trialing? i was thinking about getting it road legal if it was worth it. like i said before i'm not interested in trials comps etc. at the moment but thanks for the links, i'll be looking em over properly after i got some practice in... is there anywhere around the kent area where i can take my trials bike just to do a bit of goofing around on? i'm not interested in entering a trial at the moment i just wanna get some practice in riding around, the bike isn't road legal so cannot take on byways etc, where i take it at the moment i'm not sure if it is legal or not but wanted to know if there was anywhere that did a pay and play type thing or similar... thanks in advance GL1

if been stood for a while the plates will be sticky, get going and get into about 4th or something, pull clutch right in, get over the front wheel and give her a handfull, should loosen em up, theres a few topics here about it, in technical section too, do a search GL1

i'm sure heavy duty tubes wont hurt, i've always had heavy duties on my bikes, only a couple quid dearer GL1

wow, as low as that?? i would have though that the lighter a person is the higher the pressure must be? thats why i was running about 10psi, i weigh in at 15stone cheers again GL1

cheers fellas, i was wondering as my scramblers used to be between 25-1 and 35-1 and didnt wanna run the risk of siezing[sp] the engine with a weak mix, but 50-1 sounds good GL1

is this specific to each bike, i have a montesa 311 and been told to mix 50-1 but this seems very weak, do different mixtures give different performance? what would you advise? thanks in advance GL1

its running rich, is it running bad all through the rev range or only at certain revs? will be the carb setup, might just be the pilot screw but may need to lower the needle or get smaller jets is the bike standard or has it had a straight through pipe on and then the standard one back on? if so the jets will be too big, either new jets or slap the straight through pipe back on GL1

hello again been trying to kick over but not having it, plug out, pleanty of fuel getting through but no spark, put new plug in but still no luck, theres one yellow wire not connected to anything coming out of the loom from the bottom of the engine, and a small orange box with 2 terminals which isnt connected (at top nearest to headstock) is there a wiring diagram for this bike anywhere on the web, or does anyone have one and wouldnt mind emailing it to me, cheers fellas

oh right, well does anyone make one, like haynes? checked haynes and they dont but any other companies who do similar? if not where can i get one of those handbooks, or do i have to scour fleabay until one comes up cheers for the prompt replies peoples GL1

got a cota 311 today, first trials bike ever but looks sweet, i have had a quick search of the forum but couldnt find any info does anybody know where to get a workshop manual for the 311, have seen them for the 315, are the 315's much different to the 311's? bike had previously been standing for 6 months, which is what i suspect the sicky clutch to be from. are there any common faults i should look out for? help is much appreciated thanks, GL1
