Being rather new to maintaining and Riding Bikes, could someone tell me what is the best way to clean and take care of your Chain ? Iv'e read other posts regarding this........ some posters say to clean then soak your chain in oil ! What oil would be best to use ? I also see you can buy in a can an all in one cleaner that does the same Job ! ( or does it) your replies would be most appreciated, as my bike is as clean as i can get it after a Trial though the Chain is full of Gunk, i have the Spray on Grease that i use but that is just adding to the muck that's already on the Chain ! Is there nowhere local that you could along to where other guys are practicing ? I'm sure if you told them your hips are Donald Ducked some guy would kick it for you ! If not, sorry to hear that you have to sell it so soon, i hope that you can sort it out !

I hope that you are having as much fun as i am after choosing the Gas Gas 250 05 ! Thats exactly what i did, and have had nothing but sore hands, sore back, grief from the misses........................... etc ! Though, i would not trade the fun it has brought me for anything ( Maybe a 09 250 pro might do it )

I did notice there was more smoke than usual when pulling away after start up ! i will check the rubber seals around the Carb first, then will take it to someone to check it over for me ! Thanks for the replies Guys !

Hi there, i'm still rather new to Trials bikes but have a problem with my Txt pro 250 05 ! today whilst out practicing after about an hour i noticed the Engine was revving it's self, by this i mean when i was going downhill with the Clutch pulled in, the Engine was revving itself, as if i was pulling on the throttle then letting go then revving again and so on ! So i returned to the van and when i stopped it won't idle anymore ! does anyone have any thoughts about what i could do ? many thanks!

I've just started back riding after an absence of 20 years and i get sore hands, though i reckon it's because I'm gripping the bars to hard and also my hands aren't use to holding on to something that long yet ! So no idea whats wrong with yours and know what you should do about it.....................

I know what you are feeling like ! ( Well sort of ) After an absence of around 20 yrs or so, i bought myself a Gas Gas txt 250 05, and boy am i delighted ! I may be turning 40 on my next birthday but when i'm pulling on my Boots to head out for a spin, i have a Grin on my Face that's usually attached to a kid on Christmas morning ! I do wish that i had just went ahead years ago and Bought a bike instead of of " I think i will get another one soon" So go on you know you want too.................... !

Many thanks to the guys that replied to my post ! And to "not guilty" i have indeed been to see Garry, and he was simply brilliant with me. Though as you would expect its good to hear from people to get various opinions, as everyone has had there own experiences and prefer different bikes, engine sizes etc. Garry advised me to start on a 125 because of my size and experience. i told him i had a TY175 years ago, his reply was the difference is night and day regards the Power and weight ! so it i will trust his knowledge and go for a 125 to start with then wait and see if i require something bigger ! Hello to all at this great site ! I have looked through the whole site as i'm looking to buy a Trials bike after an absence of 20 ish years, iam 5'6 and about 10 3/4 stone ( depending on the amount of Curries and beer that i can pack in when allowed) i have read all the excellent advise that other guys post regarding buying a first bike. The thing that seems apparent from the Posts is to start at a 125, i will only be using the bike solely for Trials purposes only ( Not racing about with my Mates) but because of my lack in Height ! will certain bikes be better for Small riders or tall riders ? I would be Happy to spend around the
