  1. Unless you intend to enter trials events I wouldn't bother, if you look how much it will cost to build this up you're much better off buying something like a Honda CRF. I have a lot of Pre '65 trials bikes and built a couple so I know how much you'll be looking at, you'll be hard pressed to get much change out of a couple of grand and this will buy you a solid purpose built green laner. As for noise, not sure you can beat the FMF will a mega pipe manifold :-)
  2. Hi all, anyone know where I can get any magnesium engines case covers for a C15, I very seen a few on bikes and just wondered if I could get my hands on any? Thanks
  3. Hi all, Does anyone have any information on the Cotswold BSA frames and the history around them. I also hear a lot about John Husband, did he build he a lot of bikes?
  4. Got my number and starting time today, looking forward to the trail on Sunday. Passport fully stamped up, might even try a toll road to get there, sods law said the brake wear indicator would come on in the Vito, but hey ho should be OK to get me there and back. I'm #24 if anyone wants to say hello :-)
  5. I rode in the Cotswolds Cups yesterday the 1st round of the 2014 Sammy Miller Champions, who was there himself on a BSA. The going was slippery to say the least but a good day out. Who else was there, are there any pictures?
  6. Watch out for number 37, really looking forward to and getting a few tips from Andy Bamford Ariel is all sorted including new seat cover, after all you have to look good for the cameras :-)
  7. Zona 1, the van is in limp mode at the moment, not enjoyable. 40mph max at the moment :-( I will get it sorted
  8. GOV 132 lives, it was at Zona 1 last weekend with a 2 stroke engine
  9. So the future of pre 65 is to buy a 2 stroke, how depressing is that :-( You turn up at a trial and during those moments when you have to queue at a section you get strimmer (sorry 2 stroke) next to you who revs and revs that annoying little engine bellowing out smoke, great. Ride what you want, it ain't gonna make you a fortune, we're too old, it's about taking part and enjoying the crack. Hopefully the Talmag will be full of 4 stroke proper bikes, can't wait :-)
  10. Thanks Jon, a Yamaha XT350, Sammy used one of the prototypes in his

    Spark Plugs

I've been using an NGK B5ES in the Ariel (spark is thanks to Interspan unit) and was just wondering what everyone is running. I had a plug break down on Sunday and people are starting to say Champion are better that NGK etc etc. So I started wondering if the nose is the same would I be any better off using one of the new all singing all dancing plugs or just try a Champion equivelant? What is the preference NGK or Champion? Thanks
  17. Yup, and looking forward to your trial on the 20th (still on I hope), There's trials at Golden Valley and Zona 1 this weekend will probably go to Zona 1
  18. Anyone going to this on Sunday? I'm looking forward to it, looks like a good challenge from the videos they post from last years event.
  19. All sorted, thanks to a very helpful person. I am happy again :-)
  20. The clutch was slipping really bad when I trid to start her up on the second day of the Dartmoor trial. Took it apart and the fibre had worn right down on all of the plates, which surprised me as I've only done about 10 trials on it. Are there different types of plate I should get with a more hard wearing compound? I see you can get alloy friction plates which cost nearly £40 each (I think, maybe this is for a set) what's the advantage of using these over the steel one? I have 11 plates in total 6 fibre and 5 steels, has anyone tried mixing them up, so using some alloy some steel? Final question, where's the best place to get these from? All help much appreciated. Thanks
  21. Get the six speed 150 Sport, and chip it, OH happy days......... .... but please don't forget the bike in the back :-)
  22. Not sure where Lancashire is, but I think it's up North, I would try Mr Steve Gagg, all round nice guy and wine connoisseur.......
  23. Some great pictures from last Saturday's trial at the Bonanza www.charliewooding.co.uk
