  1. I'll tell you what though, it was a lot heavier than I thought the Ariel, Matchless & C15 are much lighter, I guess the acid test will be when I start to use it.
  2. I know, but the options just did not stack up. It will take a lot of learning on my part, but I think once mastered it should last a life time
  3. ... I have just bought a Bantam. Should be able to pick it up in a week or so, been looking around for a while and I think I've made the right choice. Very good set of gears and revs well, watch this space :-)
  4. Hi all, Does anyone know who was taking the pictures at the special test yesterday? I went air born over the jump at the end straight and would love a copy of the photo the photographer took. Thanks

Aspen fuel, stick to V Power my friend. I'm at the Talmag as well on Sunday, so if anyone has a Velo MAC for sale please let me know, and maybe we can sort out a deal.
  8. If anyone knows of a Velocette MAC trials bile for sale can they please send me a message? I saw one at a vintage trial on Sunday and am interested in getting one.

Great looking bike, the Bantam is the way to go right? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BSA-Bantam-Trials-B175-4-Speed-Center-Plug-Head-Rex-Caunt-Electronic-Ignition/121531189691?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D28111%26meid%3Dbde93385ac1d4697a86e51fec6b4ebc6%26pid%3D100005%26prg%3D11472%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D181627618768&rt=nc Would this be eligible for the Scottish Pre 65?
  11. Not sure why taking the chrome option is taking it to far, I've had a few things rechromed and it's a simple process. I would get it chromed, or make a new one out of titanium :-)
  12. .... wasn't about the Pre '65 but they're doing some great Christmas offers at Lidl :-)
  13. Hi all, Trying to understand the best mixture for the Bantam, can you please let me know the winning formula?
  14. wow, you need to go on an MSE course, I can help you................... I think one of the reasons why you don't get many responses is that not many people know the answers, as there appears to be far too much interest in Post Office bikes :-( I'll continue to ride proper bikes, the day you see me on a trial on a 2-stroke shoot me.

sounds like a plan, although not 100% sure about what a cats a*** is? Well obviously I know what one is, cos they use it in my garden and then Maggie eats what come out of it, but hey don't get me going on that topic :-(

    Soldering

Any recommendations for the best soldering iron to make up cables? I've been struggling with a gas torch which is just simply to hot. Also any hints on the best solder to use?
  18. Interspan is the answer to the Holy Grail .......................
  19. Just got confirmation, I will try to enter on my pre unit Matchless
  20. Don't forget the pasty stop for Nige & Dave
  21. Any thoughts please? Yes it's a Mick Mills type frame.
  22. So, in an attempt to make sure I've got the correct mixture I keep on checking the plug and after a few changes this is what it looks like I think it's looking pretty good, thoughts please?
  23. Would be great if the Talmag was renamed to reflect Len's part of the scene and the contribution made particularly to this great event.
