  1. An Evo bike is a step up from a Superstocker and not quite a superbike.

Moto2 bikes all run sealed Honda CBR600 engines in prototype chassis.

WSB abd BSB aren't exactly the same but close enough. Not the same rules regarding the engines as far as i'm aware.

IOM TT Senior race is open to anything really. as long as it qualifies. We had a Paton 500 2stroke the other year a Moto2 bike last year and Norton are hoping the be back next year with something on 2 wheels. Pretty much everyone will run what they rode in the Superbike TT the week before but you can also race your superstock (as long as you qualify).

A Superstock bike is basically a proddy 1000cc but now, certainly at the TT you are allowed quickshifters. You are also allowed to change the fairing to a race prepped one and swap the fork internals but the outers must be stock.

Supersport is 600cc (or 675 if you are Triumph).

  2. It looks like he was intending to go for a flying lap and went down the refuelling lane instead! That's somewhere around 130 mph! A big chunk of luck for all concerned.

He said he got blinded by the sun and when he could see again he thought the end of the barrier was a bike to took evasive action! Lucky boy!

  3. Signing on is friday night, have you looked into coming from Heysham, thursday night or friday afternoon??

If there is no way of changing your bookings to an earlier time then your last resort would be to contact Tony Temple, Secretary of the meeting and see if there is anyway you will be able to sign on at the grandstand on the saturday morning.

Try to change your boats first though.

  4. Unless you set off first on sunday morning and fly around in record time there will be no way you'll catch that boat on the sunday afternoon. Much better to get the monday boat back and like ausy300pro says, watch the MGP race on monday morning, it is a bank holiday after all!

    See you in August.

  6. i got myself a 2011 250 back in November and i am loving it. Don't regret down sizing from the 300. more than enough power from the 250, does everything that the 300 did and the ride is brilliant. the changes to the frame and airbox and both extremely practical and very pleasing to the eye.

I can only imagine that the 'Racing' models will excellent bikes but the standard bikes certainly are more than enough. Wouldn't change mine.

  7. yes the 2 day is still and will always be inbetween practice and race week at the MGP. In other words, August bank holiday weekend.

    Entries open 2 weeks today!

Not a great many places to practice, mostly government owned quarries and plantations which are off limits. There are some privately owned areas but you need permission to access them.

The old Laxey mines, above the Laxey Wheel are an excellent day out, plenty to do and when the weather is good, it makes it better! But as i said thats about the only place you can legally ride without permission.

  8. There is a little over a month until the entries open for the 2011 trial.

Who of you on here are intending to return this year or even ride for the first time??

We always welcome any comments as we are always trying to improve on the previous year so if you have any views (good or bad) please let us know.

    Cheers guys.

  10. So you don't think that shirty and jack lee have helped in Dibs success?

Got to agree with Greg on this one. Jack Lee has to be given a huge amount of credit in helping Dibs to his success and Shirty has had an immense amount of influence on him.

Granted Dibs is the one who has ridden the bike and made it happen but to have two massive personalities pushing you hard all the way like JL and JS Jnr, you have to think that if they didn't come into his career he might not have got to where he is now.

Good Luck to James for 2011.

  11. He got off to a good start but i wasn't impressed with the way he argued that 2 he got given in the final!

I say good on the Chief Observer...i did wonder whether or not his foot left the peg. Although i have seen the top boys protest a mark against them before i haven't seen them do it quite in that manner before. IMO he was out of order and should've been 5'd. There should be more observers like that man!!

He didn't need to argue it anyway, he was always going to win the trial and had enough to drop a stray 1.

He has slightly gone down in my estimations i'm sorry to say.

  12. THe only thing i don't get about the whole Dibs 'saga' is that why hasn't anything been announced if, infact, he is moving at all?!

Everyone else seems to have made their announcements on their whereabouts in 2011, is he waiting for the right time or is he trying to find a way out of his 2011 GG contract he seemingly signed back in September, GG website?????

Unless GG are lying to us all.....
