  1. I've seen a woodland land i'm thinking of buying. The sporting rights are included in the sale, so i'm assuming i can ride my bike on the land without any legal problems? The land has road access and is away from houses etc... What I'd like to know is what can i do in the way of modifying the land with a digger and building sections. The land appears flat from an ordance survey map. If there were to be issues with digging the land up are there any ways ( PM me privately) in which the local council might agree, ie; allowing the local boy scouts, girl guides to have summer camps, or allow horse riding?

  2. I think I remember seeing on the clubs website the sections had already been laid out for the trial (?). There is a couple of days left before Sunday, perhaps there could be a change to this cancellation, but would need for the farmers to give it the green light. Does the club know the restrictions have been lifted, or better still could someone close to the clubs committee mention this?

  3. I was just reading the Todotrial website and noticed that Alfredo Gomez, (new World Youth Champion of course ) got a hero's welcome at the airport when he arrived home. He got an audience with the Mayor and let out on the balcony to crack open a bottle of bubbly (F1 Style) in front of his adorning fans gathered outside. Fair play to the guy! It must be something to be a world champion and get that kind of treatment.. <_<

Similar to what happens over here I bet

I'm up for organising something for the next British Junior World Champion :) ... how about i supply the mini sausage rolls and tuna sandwich's? :) . ....Seriously, 2008 if RD wins or even comes second to AW, Trials Central will have NO option but to organise a party.

  4. This is a double blow for me, firstly i was so looking forward to this trial and secondly atomant has been let off the bet 'who is the better rider' jammy sod. Thanks to the shropshire mcc for the call today saying the trial is cancelled. if anyone from the club is reading this you can keep my entry payment i'll be riding next year.

does anyone have any recommendations for events in and around wales, telford, sheffield that cator for a adult clubman class, this is anytime?

  5. Graham is great guy and what a blinder of a ride I only wish I could have been there.

If I had the money and knew of people who have a passion for our sport like I do, but have been are little more fortunate than me with money owning a company or having a little extra cash wouldn't/shouldn

  6. couldn't agree with you more, but as for the commentry i wasn't there. Alexz is worth a mention he is still riding a 125cc machine (?) if he is that's an amazing ride from a very likable young guy. Ross also rode well and Lee. Jarvis had a great ride, but Dabill i was expecting a bit more.

  7. The photo's of the Master Class look great and the sections are prity big those guys still know how to ride a bike. How old is Steve he must be nearly 50?

The 08 Sherco is very tasty reminds me a little of my old 1997 315 Mont (white).

So its the big day tomorrow, "Come On Doug, James, Michael, Alexz, Ross and all the British riders". Thought i'd say that as i've haven't said anything on here yet.

Is the entainment for TC members going okay, not sure if anything is organised? I'm gutted i can't be there today or tomorrow especially when its Doug's final outing - well gutted.

Keep us posted on all that happens and just the the hell of it I'm saying again "Come On Dougie!!!!"

  8. Christ Spud, that section is Heaths worst nightmare B) he'd lose his tan by the end cards for sure

Here's another picture of me the swamp/bog was about 50feet long and by the time i got to this section i was having such a bad day i really didn't care what i rode through so it was through the middle. Picture below is when i was about 5 feet in and this was the shallow end of the section.

  9. Popped the reeds and jet in and it certainly makes a significant difference - much better pickup at the bottom end and no bogging. I wondered why you went with a slow action throttle but I might need to go that route as well now.

Anyway I'll see how it goes with a proper run out this weekend.

    Jim

I went for the slow action throttle because of two reasons. 1) snatchy clutch (at the initial bite its handy to have a bit more throttle movement to prevent unwanted revs combined with the said snatch clutch) 2) riding with out using the clutch at close to idle speed i can open the throttle with out being caught by unwanted extra power. The picture below is of me, i also fitted a drain pipe to the bottom of the air box some events in my centre can be a little wet in places. I can't say if there was any water in the air box as the bike was dripping wet when i undid the cap but for me the drain pipe is a bit of piece of mind.

  10. AtomAnt Posted Today, 02:13 AM

How much money do you have to spend?

At the moment none. But if and that is a big if, I am able to buy a new to me bike probably no more than $3000 U.S. (and that may be a stretch I will probably ride my 2000 sherco 2.9 until trials is run on hoverbikes)

I guess I am not looking for "cheap" but the "best bang for the buck" and the bucks are lower than purchasing new.

Sounds like an 04 onwards would be the best bet.

    Thanks gentlemen

and if there is any more info on what to look for please post.

    Atomant,

How hard does a person have to ride a bike in order to muck up the clutch cage on that new of a bike? What level did they ride at?

I know of another 05 Raga that needed one changed as well. Both have been well ridden I would say. One level expert and I don't know what level you would put Spud at!! probably Beginner

Funny that when i see the title of this thread on the front page of TC i knew Mr Ant would be giving me a mention. Not that he's not allowed to he does own my old Gas Gas. So, yes I am novice rider and don't mind being called a beginner or novice from anyone who is better than me and thats 99.9% of the trials community. The other 00.1% is where Mr Ant is placed due to his lacking ride at said event below. With this in mind this makes Mr Ant, An Over 40 Wobbler Who Lost The Bet. B)

If/when i buy another Gas Gas and if its second hand I'd consider any bike which sounds 'good' and 'rides well'. The year of the bike would not be an issue for me but the 2001/2 bikes would have to be very good for me buy one of them.

  11. Hi Spud,

Yup looks good - curious what difference you think the reeds and jet change have made as I've also got an 07 250?

    Ta

    Jim

Hello Jim, The reeds have made a very noticable difference in that I don't have to rev the bike to clear the engine. The 27.5 jet means it will now ticks over, and the carb being drilled has stop the petrol leak.

Thanks - might give that a go - where did you source reeds and jet?

    Ta

    Jim

I bought them from motomerlin (boysens reeds). If my memory serves me right they cost me about

  12. Just out of interest... why the airbox drain pipe?.. I have had my beta for 18 months now and even when going wild with the pressure washer i don't get anything in the airbox.

Dreaming of the SSDT next year!.... No the main reason was when i had my Scorpa SY i managed to half fill the air box when I got a little off line in a stream (the water was up to the handlbars for a few sections). I couldn't continue because i had no way of draining it out. For this reason the drain pipe has been fitted to the Beta, and yes the Scorpa got one it was from a Gas Gas, the old style nipple teet.

I think your a fair weather rider

  14. The adjustable ignition switch first appeared on the Raga the following year it was on the TXT. The large diameter forks were first fitted to the Raga and then to the TXT. The light weight of the Raga is matched 2 years after by TXT. The way i see this is look at last years Raga and you'll be getting some of the goodies on the TXT to following year .
