Apologies for what might seem like an obvious question, but I'm new to Villiers engines !
I want to change the gearbox sprocket on my 8E engine to lower first gear - first glance doesn't look as easy as it is on all the other bikes I have - just thought I would ask advice before I start
Depending upon numbers then some clubs will put conducted route on (separate from main trial). I know Consett/Stanley used to (I used to help run them) but depends upon numbers. Invariably what happens is after a year the kids progress to main route, and if there is no one behind then the conducted trials stop. It is a great introduction tho.
I guess if you could muster up some numbers and then ask ?
Richmond definitely do conducted which are very good. Ted has ran them for years and continues, and again they are an excellent introduction.
Good luck, and a great looking bike, no doubt the upper end of the trials market will flock to buy.....but flock to by a very very niche market.
Completely agree that every step forward is indeed a step forward, and occasionally a game-changer will come (discs/monoshock ......ECU mapping ....maybe not..... ???)
All of the developments in some way filter down to the layman is great - and to have a new trials model, British influence is fantastic ! (please find a UK rider ...........)
Bring on Vertigo to the masses of trials....
BUT ........ I would say 99% of trials riders would like a brand new clubman bike ...............<£4K, reliable, easy maintenance (ride/wash/lube/2 hr maintenance/put away/spend time with family/ride..........repeat from step 2.....)
Not to hijack thread tho.........so good luck, great bike, and great development (which needs a WTC British rider !)
Thanks for the posts and advice, much appreciated !
Turbo - yep still on with TLM, almost complete now. Could not source big bore, but everything else complete ready for Christmas.
Didn't intend to get another, but the fantic was a good price, and looking ahead my son will need a 125 twinshock so couldn't resist!
Your right tho, can't have too many bikes and projects on the go...... Latest stable consists of...TLR200, TL125, sprite 150 (3 mine), whitehawk 80, TLM 50, fantic 125, italjet 50 (all my sons) and we have a 2012 beta 80 and 2 bantams up for sale........
I've seen the fantic 80 on ebay - looks a decent bike at a good price - typical, one turns up when you don't want one !!
Tlm 50 rebuild well on the way. On dismantling found it a sound bike, nothing untoward up to now. I've seen 60cc kit available so probably go that route as well
I'll post some photos when finished, might be a few months tho as no hurry - it's a Christmas present

Yeah I've seen Peter Gaunt riding his at some trials - and it certainly is capable ! (as he is as a rider !)
We have tried the TLM before strip down - Its being prepped for my sons Christmas present (he's 12) and it works well - just need to rev and splat to get the front end up - but seems a great little bike - a great step uf from his Whitehawk 80
