  1. Anyway round this issue?????????
  2. I know this isnt the exact thread for this bike but i thought that some one on here may be able to help me.?? I got a 1976 Suzuki TS250A engine stripped down in boxes and got a 1977 TS250 frame. im looking to rebuild the bike using the above but i noticed that the 1977 frame has two diagonal bars (side by side) going from steering head to bottom of frame and the 1976 frame which i have an engine out of has a single down pipe from steering head. Does anyone know if the 1976 engine will go into the 1977 frame ???????? Im worried about the exhaust manifold hitting the down pipes.

    2010 Xispa

Well i'v only been into trials bikes for a few months and got a older 99 model gasser, but when im looking to upgrade in the future (as im loving my new hobby) i'l be seriously considering a xispa, a grand cheaper than any of the other bikes new, and being a beginner these bikes would be plenty for me.The looks are also spot on also, lets hope they stay around for a bit cos im already saving for mine!!!! ha ha
  4. either that or you'l end up wrapped around a tree????? ahhh
  5. Im new to trials bike also, been riding enduros etc for a few years but bought a trials bike about 3 months ago. anyone know of any good trials training schools in south wales???????? im from deep in the valleys, about 20 miles from cardiff, where the sheep are rampant and woman even worse ( or should i say better)???
  6. Theres a website in wales called welshtrials.com which shows all the trials events through out wales, so im sure someone can point you in the right direction of a site showing events in england????
  7. Theres one in AB Motorcycles in south wales, looks the dogs danglies too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. I had the same problem on my 1999 gasgas 270. i had hit a tree stump which twisted the forks in the clamps causing a mis-alignment, which effect the rebound on my forks, when i put weight on forks and released the forks would stay compressed, so i loosened all the bolts except for top clamp, bounced forks a few times, then tightend bottom triple clamps, then bounced forks again a few times and tightened front wheel up, mud guard bracket goes on last and should line up tidy with mounting holes. rebound sorted then. I did have a little oil leaking thou so i then decided (a week or two after sorting above problem) to get seals done and new oil put in the forks, the front end of the bike feels ten times nicer, they told me in shop to tweek adjusters to my own liking but i hav'nt bothered cause it feels so much better than before. good luck
  9. What??? you cant cut out a square of metal on a milling machine and drill 2 countersunk holes in half hour???? No wonder they say trials biking is a laid back sport. ha ha
  10. Has anyone got a spare aluminium cover lying around that they could take a photo of the top side and the bottom side of it. Also some measurements of them, overall length, overall width, hole positions, hole diameters etc etc..... I have access to a toolroom and want to make myself some Aluminium covers for my brake and clutch master cylinders. I know you can buy them anodised in all colours but i dont want to pay nearly

    Gasser 270

My mate has bought a 1996 gasser jtr270 and the fork seals are knackered. can anyone one tell me how to strip the forks, i stripped them on my 99 txt270, which look very similar except for the adjusters on the top of the legs. also how much fork oil goes in each leg and what weigh oil would he need as he's approx 16 stone??
  12. My 99 gasser txt270 seems to be running sweet as a nut, but now and again when im trying to start her she'll back fire. she's had a new plug, clean filter etc.. any other reason why she's doing this?????
  13. got the plug out and it was all ****ty, must have been running rich when i had the wrong oil on the air filter, put a new plug in and it started first kick and didnt miss a beat. little tip::: NEVER use K&N oil on a foam filter!!!!!!!
  14. Some people use hair laquer, spray LOADS on, move sticker until its in right position, let dry
  15. Cheers for the reply, it only seemed to change when i swapped my air filter from a standard one to a 'TwinAir' one???? any ideas why????

    Gasgas Txt270

I know its a simple question, but im new to trials and was wondering which screw on the carb turns the tickover up on my 1999 txt270. it seems to be ticking over very low revs and cutting out
  17. Come on, some1 must have seen this before?????????????

    Dodgy Brakes

Couldnt that warp the Disk? or is that just an old wives tale. ha ha
  19. Check the adjuster on your clutch lever, my bruv's was wound to far in and it was not letting the piston come fully out against the circlip, this then means that the o-ring could be sitting the wrong side of the resevoir hole.?????????

    Jtr270 Gasser

A mate of mine has just bought a 1996 gasser JTR270 and we've noticed that it has a slapping sound coming from the engine, it sounds like the piston is slapping something but the bike has plenty of compression and plenty of power, it starts first kick every time and everything else seems fine. Anybody heard this before and can point us in the right direction?????????????????????
  21. Put my new filter in with my No-toil oil on it, bike run a lot better than when the filter had the K&N oil on it. The bike is still cut out now and again at low revs and when it does its hard to start, and sometimes it back fires when kicking over too, it doesnt happen as often as when i had the K&N oil on it but its still a nuisance. Could the spark plug be knackered now after running it with the ****ty oily filter?? im open to ideas as i havnt had chance to start looking at it???
  22. OK Cheers, i think i'l clean it out and re-oil it, i only thought i used a little oil but cos its for a gauze type filter, it seems to be a lot thicker!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  23. Had my No-toil filter oil yesterday but still waiting for my new filter, decided to take the bike out for a ride last night, but the bike kept cutting out at low revs, i have never had this problem before, my bike (touchwood) has always run sweet as a nut.. The only difference being that the air filter in her has the K&N oil on it. Has any one else seen this problem before, im hoping that when i put my new filter in the bike it should cure this, i know its strange but it felt like the bike was suffocating?????????????
