  1. Sorry for maybe being stupid, but what exactly is wrong with this? Are you ultra paranoid of having a clean bike and uber environmentally friendly?

These must be the worst reasons EVER!!! for doubting the amount of oil you use in your fuel.

It's more residue than all my previous bikes, and smokes more than my previous bikes. This is my 6th trials bike.

  2. Two strokes smoke and they get black sticky residue around exhaust outlet.

General consensus for a modern trials 2T engine is 80:1 = 62.5ml per 5 litres of petrol, however a ratio of 100:1 is also acceptable.

Check that you're not running too rich as this can make the smoking and residue worse.

    Awesome thanks

  3. You need to mix it at 65:1, that is 75ml of oil to 5 litres of fuel, no more, no less....

Any good quality 2T is fine but do not use Silkolene......

That's what Gasgas UK said and i have been using.......

That's actually more oil than I currently add so surely that would just make things worse?

  4. i was running my 2013 at about the same as you, until i went on a training day and he recommended 10ml per litre, my bike runs better and it's easy to remember.

    Woah! Isn't that 500:1?

    EDIT/ I miss read that, it's 100:1, I thought it said 10ml per 5L

Might give that a try then.

  5. 2012 300cc, currently running it on 70:1 which works out at 71ml per 5L (5000ml / 70 = 71.4ml)

    BUT

My exhaust tip has quite a bit of black sticky residue around it and it does smoke a little when running, more so than my previous bikes. So could/should I start adding a little less oil?

  6. Someone has offered to pay £150 towards some boots for me for Christmas so anyone have anything good or bad to say about the boots below or any other choices? I'm happy adding another £50 so anything between £150-200 would be ideal.

    Hebo Tech EVO

    Hebo EKO EVO

    Gaerne Balance Classic

    Forma Boulder

Or anything similar, currently leaning towards the Gaerne Balance Classic in Black.

I did try adding links to all of the boots but apparently the Admin do not allow that?!

  7. A. Adding another machining operation to a component will obviously add more cost, the place I work at charges £40-£50 per hour for each CNC machine to be running.

    B. I do know someone who has had 2 fingers sliced off when they got caught in the spaces on the rear sprocket. And I REALLY don't want that to happen to me so the extra cost on top of the cost of a normal sprocket is worth it's weight in Gold.

And to those saying that the solid sprocket has less machining, you're wrong. The old style sprocket would have had those shapes pressed out, water jetted or lasered, NOT machined. Machining would have been an expensive way of mass producing that part.

  8. Nice looking bike!

I cant find the partnumber in my program, its not in the sticker kit

Emailed Marzocchi direct and they'd said they'd send me some stickers, that was a week ago now though and not had anything arrive yet so who knows.

  9. They Only do the Fatbar same fitting whatever the Bike. http://www.renthal.co.uk/mx-products/handlebars/fatbar. The Alternatives are the S3 which comes in "World" and "Buffalo" Versions where the "Buffalo" has a greater rise than the "World". Then There is the Jitsie available in 5 different "rises". Gas Gas Fit Either the S3 or the Renthal. Given our experience of the S3 on the Gasser's It was the "world" bar. Yours does appear to be the Renthal which is one size.

Thanks for the info :-) Renthal actually list two different trials bars, the "Trials 100" & "Trials 110". Will probably end up with Jitsie again then as they have a few different sizes.

  10. Spoke to Renthal and they've given me the following info:

Raga 2012 - GasGas part number: BT2500RA3010 = Renthal Part number 673-01-TT (Which according to Renthals website equates to their "Trials 100" handlebar.

I've sent them another email asking if they can covert the GG part numbers for the '13 & '14 Raga's in to Renthal part numbers for me so hopefully they'll sort me out.

  11. Anyone know what handlebars come on a 2012+ TXT Raga replica 300?

Bought my bike used and it's almost a replica Raga replica, it's got some red Renthals on so want to change them for whatever comes on the Raga or Racing versions,

2012 Raga rep, Renthal FatBars, but anyone know the geometry or model number?

    gg_raga_2012_042.jpg

2013 Raga Rep, what are these bars?

    gg_txt_replica_2013_0033.jpg

2014 Racing, again Renthals but what geometry or model number?

  12. If nothing else you have a very unique bike. Probably frustrating to not know what it is, but at least you wont see any others like it.

This is true, I will send the frame number off to GasGas and see what comes back, then at least I'll know what the base model is.
