Wheres the best (cheapest) place to get a standard exhaust silencer for a 2003 Beta Rev 3 (270cc)?
  5. Thanks for that, that makes sense i suppose.
  6. Excellent info, thanks! The tickets were actually a gift from my brothers girlfriend, which we were very surprised by!
  7. Am going on the 9th Jan, have not been before and was thinking maybe i would need a small pair of binoculars? I'm sitting somehere in block 207.... click to enlarge image Anyone been before that could shed some light on this?
  8. I'm having trouble getting this dialled, i always end up with either the not getting the back wheel high enough or when the bach wheel goes a bit higher the front wheel isnt high enough. I have the Ryan Young DVD but finding his technique a bit hard as he talks about a massive upper body explosion of power which i find hard due to a bad shoulder. Watching Dougie do them he seems to hardly use his upper body compared to Ryan, i think Dougie uses his legs more, see here: 3min 36secs http://fwd.five.tv/fifth-gear/videos/other...-dougie-lampkin Anyone have any vids or advice on this.
  9. BVM Moto have always given me: Castrol 1 Power TTS 2T Fully Sythetic

  11. 70:1 Any good bike shop will have a measure tube with 70:1 marked on it, fill it to the line and chuck it in 4.55 (or a 5 litre jerry can) litres of fuel.
  12. I know what you mean, i only got the 270cc because it came up at a good price. Its the only bike i've ever had though so its just something i've gotten used to.
  13. Cheers lads, at least i know there is something available then, i'll get hunting
  14. If you look at the picture you'll see thats not possible.
  15. Good to hear, thanks!
  16. My bike (270cc) has a very popping banging note to the exhaust, is this normal? I know 2 other people with the same bike but 250cc's which both sound very smooth. My silencer packing looks no different to theirs. Not having another 270cc to compare to i don't know if mine sounds normal. The bike starts and runs fine and always has, the low down revs can be a bit jerky while doing slow manouvers but other than that it seems fine.
  17. Having a bit trouble with the front wheel locking up due to leaves and mud collecting under the front mudguard, anyone know of any risers available to increase the clearence a little? The bike is a 2003 so the mudguard setup is as below... click to enlarge image

Is the impeller shaft seals the only place where the coolant and oil could mix? Took the impeller off and the shaft seal looked ok.
  19. sawtooth replied to sawtooth's topic in Beta
Yes a new shaft was fitted at the same time. I've had the bike for a year and it has always been fine untill around the time i changed the case. Looks like i'm going to have to strip it down again then.

Hmmm, well i'm an engineer so was quite confident, but..... i'd not done it before so i don't know. Is this the seal that i can get to quite easily by removing the water pump cover? Or am i going to have to remove the entire engine casing again?

My gearbox oil is looking quite milky, i use transmission fluid which is a translucent red colour, but at the moment it looks like strawbery milkshake?! The oil is around 10 riding hours old and was changed at the same time as my mates, which dosnt look like milkshake. I changed my engine case (water pump side) at the same time as putting the new oil in so am wondering if maybe coolant is getting mixed with the oil somehow? All new parts and seals were used at the time.
  22. I run my 2003 Rev3 270cc @ 70:1 I always use high octane fuel and only ever get smoke if i open it right up in 5th or 6th.
  23. Some good info, i can get one bike in as it is if i have it on a slight angle. Am in the middle of fabricating something similar (but better) to the Fuse Powersports Box Bar above for when i have 2 bikes.
  24. Cheers for the address, found some useful pictures
  25. Whats the best way to fix 2 trials bikes in a 6ft x 4ft pickup bed? The bikes are a little over 6ft so tailgate down? Bikes on a diagonal? Pictures would help.
