    TALMAG Trial

Programmes just back from printers should be in post nowish.
  4. we can get a team its just know one ever asks us, last time we rode was about 4yrs ago, perhaps we should get together and enter our own team next year, totaly agree with you on the missing out, and atmosphere mostly by the sidecar boys and girls.
  5. ah cant argue with that, southern centre the only centre not sending a team, there are crews out there ,the isle of man even send a team over

    Bsa

Hi can anyone tell me where i can download info on the removal and replacement of the oil pump on a b44 please
  7. Understand your point and can see how much work would be involved but does it have to be 2 weeks in advance, i've entered nationals before and have only received a number and start time with no programme, although it is nice to see who else is riding. Turning up on the day for nationals wouldn't work, how do you feel about centre trials ?
  8. I certainly did not intend to start upsetting all club secretaries, as you say its all done with very little thanks , unfortunately with three nationals being so close together i cant commit to next weekend either. and having been on both sides of the fence I would always thank the oragnizers for their effort and commitment knowing its very hard to please everybody. Sorry if you thought i was having a go at club organizers, and good luck with your event next week which i wish i could ride.
  9. I take my hat off to all club volunteers and do know how hard it is to deal with everything and obviously without them NO event.
  10. done that for 4 yrs,ran fortnightly wednesday evening club trial, clerk of course, results, the lot , get there mid-day or sooner for 3 start leave 8.30 + never new how many would turn up but loved every minuet of it ,rain or shine, only stopped due to lack of clubs ambition (also sat on committee). Even with postal entry there is work to be done on the day (never appreciated) but maybe there might be a bigger championship entry than 8 (twinshock).
  11. why do we have to have closing dates weeks before a trial. I wanted to ride the traditional round this weekend but was due to work, but a week before the trial job cancelled, to late for an entry, even worse for sidecars when you have two people to predict what they might be doing in two weeks time, surely its not just for a programme. And centre trials extra entry fee and no award whats that all about surley if you pay more money you should be able to ride for the award/points,we cant all enter weeks in advance and if you do have you ever had your money returned even with a phone call or is it just me trying to earn a living and have play time.
  12. Hi is there any advantage in changeing the tail pipe or is it best left alone ?

    Dating Cert

Hi does anyone know where i can get a dating certificate for a 1980 SWM so i can register it for the road. Thanks
  14. i agree a good rider can still be in the running on a standard bike take Matt McDonald 2 top three places on a tlr 200 that hasn't been touched, and yes to fettle a pre 65 so you can enjoy your days sport is a must. Maybe there should be a class for all the highly modified bikes to compete against one another pre65 and twinshocks together after all they ride the same sections you could have Hutty Gaunt Baker Whiffin Nolan Wilmore and the likes trying to beat one another and let the rest of us get on and play . Would the pressure of knowing that everyone is capable of going clean laed to mistakes,or will they want harder sections to try and find a winner.
  15. I think there are alot of riders and clubs around here that would love it the biggest problem i see would be road work would that be included ? There are clubs with the people and land to do it on 1 piece of land perhaps 2 laps of 20 sections. Would be great to have more national trials.
  16. I hope we dont see discs in twinshock events, most people set a bike up to how they like it and to try and get the most of it even a modern trials iron, and there should be more limitations on pre65. I ride with kev alot and i know how particular he is to bike prep and he has set his bike up for him ,most people couldn't ride it alot of work and thought has gone into it, if you ever get the chance have ago you'll be surprised. Where do you draw the line with pre 65,most opt for electronic ignitition better fork inners to say the least ,would it be down to a scruteneer to spot these changes. This subject could run for ever with so many arguments as to wrong and write, to me i just want to ride the best i can and have fun. Happy trialing
  17. would this be modern/ classic or twinshock or how about all three and then theres sidecar. I think most people ride with AMCA and ACU clubs
  18. Having ridden a Norton 500T ridgid i do understand, but i have seen a good rider have a go on it a hop it all over the place. The twin shocks ridden by the top championship contenders are highly modified, compared to the bulk of the entry, because they are not competative but i still think if you put Nolan, Whiffin , Baker ,Pye they would still be out in front. There bikes are far from standard but would Joe average become a winner if he were to ride them . Im sure if disc brakes were allowed they would all have them.
  19. Isn't the man himself famous for fettling bikes to get the best out off them, some off the mentioned riders would still win on any bike. How about twinshocks with, front discs, mono shocks that have been converted to twinshocks, how special is special or am i opening another can of worms ?

    Contact Number

Does anyone have a contact number for Peter Cullingford in Yate his name has been suggested regards some trials clothing Thanks
  21. Hi Jim ,if you have a modern sidecar then the south eastern experts at hungary hill in december, the star group has sidecars mod/pre65,sammy miller rounds have classes for pre 65 and twinshock, Kev Nolan has given up and we are riding solos at the moment,i still have mine but due to lack of a passenger at the moment am unsure as to what to do. As said in an earlier post it is a very social group and many pubs will be visited, email me and i will give you more details and some other crews numbers ,good luck. Chris Guppy
