    Seeley photos

I bought a new Seeley (the black mudguard version) sometime around 1980(?) and have been a fan of them ever since. Spotted a good 'un for sale out here in France a few years back but didn't buy it. However, for some strange reason, I kept some photos of the bike and browsed through them earlier today in one of my 'delete unwanted photos' sessions. I think I'll keep 'em. Would be interesting to see other members' Seeley photos as I think there were a few different versions over its limited production run. Or am I wrong as usual? Anyway, a couple of snaps...

    Seeley Honda

If any Seeley Honda TL 200E owners need a manual, send me a PM with your e mail address and I'll send you a copy. Happy to share in the spirit of trials ?
  3. Hi everyone, I brought a seeley 200 20+ years ago but only just got around to restoring it, only to find out I'm missing a heap of stuff. Firstly I'm missing the camshaft, could anyone tell me what replacement camshaft I can use? Secondly I'm missing the rotor as well which sucks as I know the crank and rotor was weighted and balanced together. I've ordered a rotor from a xl185 and plan on getting the crank and rotor 're balanced. Is the xl185 rotor the same used in the seeley engine?

    Seeley Vs Xl185

Can anyone confirm that the original engine in a Seeley is based on the XL185? If so do most parts fit, clutch, bearings, seals etc.
  5. I have an early production Seeley 200 (frame # 1011) and the previous owner has misplaced a couple parts that I don't foresee him finding, so I need to find replacements. I have exhausted my search efforts on the web, so I hope I find better luck with this post. I need a front backing plate and front axle. I was told a MT125 Elsinore backing plate (1973-1976) would fit, but it does not. I assume I could fit an entirely different ft. rim with larger brakes, but I would like to keep as original as possible. Also, no carburetor and air boot on the bike...my only option may be to fit a similar carburetor, which may be of best option or interest anyway. I assume the front tire assembly/backing plate were common on other bikes of this era, but I rather not keep guessing and making incorrect and costly ebay purchases. For the carburetor, I know there are several options, but any insight as to which carb (make and model/part number) anyone has had success with (along with jet sizes) would be greatly appreciated.
  6. Has anyone tried a TLR carb on a Seeley? Been having the usual problems with the original, erratic tickover and lack of adjustment.
  7. Could anybody please give me a bit of advice as to what mudguards this would have come with and what would be the closest style of replacement available today, also what would the correct length of the rear shocks have been? Any help and advice will be most welcome.
  8. Hello all. My final drive shaft has a fair bit of wear to the splines, before I get the TIG set out, is this shaft common to any other engines? XL185 etc Thanks for taking a look at my post. Mark

    Seeley Rs200Te

Can anyone help with information on mods to this engine? I have one to overhaul and would like to know if it can be bored out above the standard oversize. Also I have been told that a cam from either a quad or a XL/XR 200 will improve performance. Where would I source engine parts for this engine? Any information would be appreciated.
  10. Hi everyone can someone possibly help out, I own the Honda Seeley in the picture but I'm trying to get a copy both myself and Mannix Devlin can't make out the date of publication can you help out?
  11. Hello, Is there anybody that can explain me how to adust timing ignition on the Seeley... There is no "F" mark on the ignition plate ; so i'm a bit lost. Many thanks in advance
  12. I am trying to locate a kickstart stop for my TL200 Seeley , can anyone lend me their stop so I can fabricate a new one, I will return next day registered delivery. Also I'm looking for a spring clip for the fork leg that keeps the seals in. cheers all :hyper:
  13. hi men i have a honda seeley in the garage thats needs a little help i need the bushes and pin for the swinging arm mud guards exhaust maybe the kick start i would also like info on the bike manuals etc all help would be appreciated thanks
  14. is there anybody out there who knows what gearbox ratios were used in the seeley box ???

    Seeley 200 Kick

Hello, I've got a little question about the Seeley's kick.. What kind of model did you have on your bike ? Here is mine, but i don't think it's the right one.. Thanks
  16. Just wondered how many of the remaining Seeley's still have the original stainless RSC back boxes fitted. I had one from new and the rear box needed plating before it was two years old, paper thin! The odd ones that come up for sale all appear to have after market exhausts fitted.
  17. A friend of mine is looking for a new frot pipe for a seeley with XL 185 engine, which will be the right one Tlr or Tl or complete different ?
  18. My Seeley has a cam knock ( i think it's coming from that area), what is required to fix this? Any help would be great thanks.
  19. Probably the only one over there, may be reasonable money that side of the water. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/260982460943?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649#ht_708wt_932
  20. Any suggestions out there as to where to get a set? Trying to get a set of XL185 plates here in Ireland is proving difficult!
  21. Has anybody got an original RSC exhaust for a Seeley Honda 200 in an intact state which I could buy as a pattern? Or one that I could measure ? I've just bought a Seeley Honda but all the original exhaust mounting brackets on the frame have been removed and I need to reference the correct position of the brackets. The exhaust system now on the bike follows similar lines to the original RSC item but now attaches to a bracket that hangs from the rear suspension top mount, which isn't a bad solution really except I'm not sure how the middle box will behave if it is unsupported. I wouldn't be concerned but the middle box fouls the rear tyre on full compression and is also touching the base of the airbox. If I go to the trouble of modifying the existing exhaust to clear everything properly, or make a new one from scratch, I might as well replace the frame brackets at the same time and return the bike to standard. Many Thanks

  23. Help required, please. What spark plug do you recommend as the manual states NGK D5ES or D6ES which I can not find anywhere. Should I just use the DR version with the resistor in it. Or what's the view of this forum? Thanks
  24. After much wanting and lusting after I have finally spent the cash and bought a Seeley honda 200 I now need some help from the Trails central community, first where do you go for spares? second as its going to be used and not an ornament whats the up grades ( it came with big footrests and there is a set of rock shocks on thier way ) and finally does anyone have a manual that I could copy. Thanks in advance P.s. just any information on Seeley's would be great
  25. Hi. Am looking for a bit of advice on my Seeley kickstart. I have just rebuilt the bike over the last 10 months having bought it from the dreaded ebay. The motor was supposed to have been rebuilt before I got it and this seems to be correct as it runs well and ticks over like a sewing machine. I am pleased with the end result apart from the the kickstart ratchet seems not to be engaging correctly and most times when you kick it will not turn the engine over. No decompressor cable setup is fitted. I have read on other postings here that sadly I will need to pull the motor apart to check / repair the problem. Can anyone tell me what to look out for and is the kickstart shaft assembly the same part as used on the XL185? My engine No is RS200TE - xxxx. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks, Bill
