    Seeley photos

Original TL200E specification from Colin Seeley
  2. While I'm here, here's a picture of the motor in process. The engine covers were painted silver stock, but I know I'll beat it up and make any paint look awful. The new CRF's come with bare metal engine covers, so I stripped the paint, cleaned the parts with an acid solution designed to pre-clean aluminum before welding. They look like they just came off of the casting machine on the production line. The hardware all went out to Hayward Electroplating for a fresh zinc coating. That's the best $150 ever spent on a restoration, spokes, bolts, clips, everything looks brand new for what amounts to not a whole lot of money. The rod small end bearing was seized so it got a new rod kit. That's a big finned cylinder from an atc bored to 66mm to fit the new high compression Wiseco piston which should give it a bit more grunt. It needed the top end work anyway because a choke plate screw fell out of the cheap aftermarket carb it had on it. The screw was missing but there were a zillion indentations in the combustion chamber to tell its story. I left the stock transmission in it. Though the gap between first and second gear is wider than what the Seeley trials or the TLR had, what is a guy to do? I thought the xl125 six speed tranny would help, but the 1-2 gap is just as big in that gearbox. Maybe I should have fitted a TL125 lower end or tranny in this lower end, but I can't find anything on compatibility and didn't get one in my hands before I ran out of patience and put this one back together. Any ideas on that front would be welcome.
  3. Has anybody got an original RSC exhaust for a Seeley Honda 200 in an intact state which I could buy as a pattern? Or one that I could measure ? I've just bought a Seeley Honda but all the original exhaust mounting brackets on the frame have been removed and I need to reference the correct position of the brackets. The exhaust system now on the bike follows similar lines to the original RSC item but now attaches to a bracket that hangs from the rear suspension top mount, which isn't a bad solution really except I'm not sure how the middle box will behave if it is unsupported. I wouldn't be concerned but the middle box fouls the rear tyre on full compression and is also touching the base of the airbox. If I go to the trouble of modifying the existing exhaust to clear everything properly, or make a new one from scratch, I might as well replace the frame brackets at the same time and return the bike to standard. Many Thanks
  4. Can anyone suggest the best combination of front and rear sprocket to suit the 200 seeley, 520 chain size. And who does the fork seals ta!

  6. Help required, please. What spark plug do you recommend as the manual states NGK D5ES or D6ES which I can not find anywhere. Should I just use the DR version with the resistor in it. Or what's the view of this forum? Thanks
  7. After much wanting and lusting after I have finally spent the cash and bought a Seeley honda 200 I now need some help from the Trails central community, first where do you go for spares? second as its going to be used and not an ornament whats the up grades ( it came with big footrests and there is a set of rock shocks on thier way ) and finally does anyone have a manual that I could copy. Thanks in advance P.s. just any information on Seeley's would be great
  8. Anybody got a a detail assembly drawings or photos of the internals of a marzocchi front forks. Think I might have a set built up wrong!
  9. Only 25 produced, rare as hens teeth. I wonder how many are still out there , single figures I bet. They are in "Four stroke finale" . I think Big John should lift the mattress sharpish. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/allan-jefferies-hond...=item439b3e0e3a
  10. Hi, i am having some stickers printed for my Seeley and i need a good photo of the Colin Seeley emblem so i can get it right, it's like a long letter S with the C across it in the middle. 12. Hello all...in the middle of changing the camchain on my Seeley and find that the TLR puller I've got doesn't fit...any idea what Honda model puller I need? Cheers, Mark.
  13. Hi, My Seeley's just developed a rattle at the top-end and is a bit hesitant off the throttle. I'm guessing that it's the little end, but could it be the camchain? I've got a Haynes manual that covers the TLR200 and I've done a top-end overhaul on 2 strokes before but never on a four stroke. It looks pretty straight forward, but according to the manual to change the camchain I've got to take the engine out and down to the crank cases. Is there an easier way? I was only going to do the chain in case I put it all back together and it still rattles. How can I tell which needs doing? Should I do the rings while I'm there? Can I do the top-end with the engine still in the frame? Where do you recommend to get the parts and gaskets etc? Thanks in advance?
  14. Hello fellow Honda people, Anyone know where I may get my hands on an original (or pattern) sump guard for my Seeley?? Currently got a home made one fitted and would like to improve things a bit. Cheers all.
  15. Hello, I just bought a 200 honda Seeley in Netherlands (but the bike comes from Germany) in very good conditions (frame number 12xx) but with strange colors, dark green for the tank, black for frame and mudguards. Does anybody know if by chance these are the original colors? Thnk you Stefano

    Seeley On Ebay

So what's it going to go for?? Clicky
  17. Sorry as I touched on this subject last year but I could not find the subject in the search facility . The Seeley fuel tap is leaking again. It has Ewarts name on it and it is the pull out type with a twist for reserve. I have had it apart this time and there is a felt type seal in it that gives no resistance when you turn it on, the felt type material has obviously dried out. I have soaked it in petrol to try to bring it back to life but no joy. I saw Steeve Goode did a tap for the Seeley but has nothing listed at present. But the tap he had listed did not look like this one. Has any one here fitted a different tap or found the Ewart parts? seal etc. Thanks in advance. PS the bike is one of the last ones built.
  18. Anyone here know if a standard set of hebo pegs will bolt straight on to a Seeley without getting the grinder or welder out, Or for that matter any of the other big pegs available. Thanks in advance

    Seeley 250

I am thinking about selling my Seeley which is a 250 rather than a 200. I have been fairly reliably informed that it is a Kondo conversion of the original engine. This apparently involved much more than simply a bigger bore ( I think it was 'stroked' as well) and reputedly is a very well engineered conversion and very sought after. However before I very reluctantly take the plunge and advertise it I wondered if anyone else could confirm this or tell me otherwise. I would not want to mislead anyone. I might not be able to bring myself to sell it at the end of the day because I just love this bike so much but I would like to know a bit more about it. Any info very much appreciated. Hopefully I've attached some photos. http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd207/b...resnov07041.jpg http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd207/b...resnov07003.jpg http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd207/b...resnov07012.jpg
  20. Can anyone reccomend a supplier for a rear 520 44T chainwheel please to suit a Seeley and also an RS200t, Talon only seem to make 45T rear which i am not too keen on, Many thanks
  21. I was wondering what Honda trials riders prefer or would like the chance to prefer to ride, The 200 Seeley or the 200 RS and what thier views are as to future regarding the more sought after machine, please dont hold back with your comments Keep your feet up!!
  22. Hi all,, I have managed to lay my hands on a very early Seeley..! frame number 1003 This makes it the third bike to be made by colin seeley,.. It has the larger fuel tank that i believe was enlarged especially for the Scotish 6 day trial, But who rode them?.. how many Seeley's were made with this larger tank? What happened to the first 2 bikes made?.. and where are they now? I would like a bit more history of my bike, i think i may have the earliest Seeley still left in this country! "I bet Big John will know" :-) thanks all : Scrumpy
  23. Hi all, I need help finding an exhaust for my seeley,, Please can anyone who either has one or knows where i can get one please point me in the right direction. Thanks: Scrumpy
  24. Hi all sorry to be a nuisance... but i really need a carb to airbox rubber for my Seeley..! I think that some of the TL 125 ones are the same, and some from the XL,, i would appreciate any imput on this matter and if anyone has one kicking about i have cash waiting. The rebuild is coming along now,, and the engine is well on its way to being fully overhauled, with only the new big end to press in, thank god the wheels and forks are good..!! One thing that i dont like about Seeley's is the weak frame, and this one will be strengthened from the inside at the weak points before powder coating. SeeleyJack

    Seeley

The Seeley fuel tap has sprung a leak. Any one know what tap was used. It is a chrome pull out type with no reserve, not like the one Steve Goode has on ebay same as CZ. The bike is one of the last built so they may have used a couple of types? Also what is a close red for frame touch up? Thanks in advance.
