paioli
wonderful thing these forums if you don't know what your talking about you can always throw in some useless facts and resort to name calling ! WE ALL KNOW HOW HARD THE ORGINISERS WORK. WE ALL KNOW HOW BIG THE EVENT IS. WE JUST THINK THE MACHINE ELAGIBILITY RULES ARE WRONG/UNFARE !
big john
It's true what Highland Lassie says, the committee are far too busy "doing" rather than reading this thread on TC. Maybe the Pre65 Scottish because of its "status" could change things, but I doubt it somehow. The rules and specifications should have been firmed up years ago to achieve this, however I will make a point (probably re-iterating part of what "overthehill" has mentioned previously) The Pre65 Scottish was initially a diversion event promoted by the same organisers as the Scottish Six Days to ease traffic congestion at the Wednesday sections at Achlain, it was supposed to be a bit of fun to get old bikes out of their slumbers and get them riding at Kinlochleven. The diversion worked, spectators took the bait and it grew from there. The "blame" (if I can call it that) for all the "cheating/development" that has evolved comes from guess who?... the blasted riders themselves! The first event was full of old genuine bikes without a "formula" other than the machine must have been produced before 1st January 1965, simple as that! Believe me, most of the committee don't have access to this website and even if they did read this thread I'm sure it would be extremely difficult to put the names of (for example)"OTF"; "totalshell"; "smiley" and "paioli" or "whathaveyer" on a black list, wouldn't it? It would read like: "Mr. Total Shell, look out for that name coming through trial secretary, ban him/her". Secretary replies: "Who?" Reply: "Total Shell, making comments about eligibility, scratch his/her entry!" Secretary: "Who are you talking about?" Yeah right... In the same way that the committee would have to make up a list of eligible "good" riders to allow into the ballot. I feel this debate could run on for years, a bit like pre-ignition then? Big John (Oh yes, they don't need to ask too many questions to know who I am do they, my photo is on the post anyway, better than presenting my comp licence to the committee isn't it!) edited for spelling mistakes! digglersdog
RIDER ELIGABILITY? HOW ABOUT RESTRICTING ENTRIES TO THOSE WHO ACTUALLY OWN A PRE-65 BIKE AND RIDE IN MORE THAN 2 OR 3 TRIALS PER YEAR? THAT SHOULD GET RID OF HALF THE EXCESS ENTRIES FOR A KICKOFF.
