March 15, 201016 yr Gday, Throttle body cleaner, available in spray cans, from anywhere that sells car parts etc. Dont use it on plastics/ O rings etc so strip the carb completely first. Cheers, Stork Edited March 15, 201016 yr by Stork955
March 15, 201016 yr Block off any overflows, put the carb back together, fill with fuel from the inlet, put your thumb over the fuel inlet and shake like mad. Then dismantle, spray some wd40 on there and leave to soak in for 30 minutes or so, then should wipe off with a cloth.

March 16, 201016 yr I hate trying to use arisols when one is that grunged up. One can waste a lot just trying to blast away, not to mention the splaater! A small(covered) tin with acetone, MEK, or laquer thinner and a good soak should soften things up. Even fresh fuel can help. Gloves!!!!!
March 16, 201016 yr Ultrasonic cleaner. Yes...This way. It even works with water or denatured alcohol. That carb is clean compared to the on my bench right now. Edited March 16, 201016 yr by motofire
