renewing pads on a Beta Rev 3 help please!

Featured Replies

Hi,the pads on my beta rev 3 ( 2003 )need changing, can anyone point me in the right direction and easy to follow instruction on changing them, its been a long while in attempting a task like as iv been out the motorbike sector for years.

thank you

Most brakes are pretty much the same, remove from fork, undo bolt on right hand side of caliper, remove pin oppisite bolt, pads fall out, repeat t'other way round.

piece of cake they'll fall out! whip the reservoir caps/ lids off when you push the cylinders back into the calipers and you ll wonder what you worried about.. put some coppa silp on the back so they dont squeal..

As i've said in another post.

It looks like i'm advertising, but im not. It's just that Trials uk have some good easy to follow How 2 videos on their site, that cover things like this.

Have a look, there Banner pops up all over Trials Central.

hrc_monty I see what you mean re Trails UK how to videos, very good tutorials.

Also, don't squeeze the brake lever while the caliper's off, you might pop the piston seals. I do it often, and it's annoying to have to bleed the brakes when you don't need to....

I've also done this with the exhaust flange on the cylinder head. Helicoils repair sets are excellent! A bodger's dream, but practice on something less valuable than a cylinder head, or fork leg first!

Yeah hellicoil is the one! Planning on doing it this weekend at some point
