August 1, 201115 yr It appeared that Raga's minder talked and guided him through the Fort William sections in French rather than his native Spanish. Anyone any ideas why that is ? I thought it would have been easier and quicker to use own language.
August 1, 201115 yr He's a big bloke that Bruno Camozzi; would you want to ask him to speak anything but his native French?
August 1, 201115 yr Asked this one myself at one point. Apparently Raga speaks French very well and his French is better than Camozzi's Spanish.
August 1, 201115 yr Useful bloke to have as a minder is Cammozi if you have a little disagreement with an observer
August 1, 201115 yr Useful bloke to have as a minder is Cammozi if you have a little disagreement with an observer Another useful guy to have around was Phillipe Berlatier. He was easily provocked . I met him at breakfast in a Girona Hotel by chance earlier this year. On his way out i said "Are you Phillipe Berlatier". He replied "Yes". All i could think to say was "You were a very good rider. I remember .. your the rider who punched an observer in the USA". He replied "No , not me" "It was Germany" It might have been the other way round , but the effect was the same.
August 1, 201115 yr What a legend Bert the Bear was... Riding in Oakley shades etc - Need more characters like him on the world scene. Still got the Duke video of him smacking the observer. Great Days
August 1, 201115 yr I was rather horrified when I heard about Belatier's dust up with the German observer. Phillipe's a big boy. Then I saw the video and the German checker was a monster. Seriously the guy threw Phillipe like he was a rag doll.
August 1, 201115 yr Author Thanks for the feedback. All clear now. Would be good to see clip of bertlatier/observer on here if it does not infringe any copyright.
August 1, 201115 yr ...it may not infringe copyright, but it certainly compromises treating observers with respect... What's the story behind the altercation? Does anybody know...? Perhaps he deserved it...?
August 1, 201115 yr did anyone hear him screaming puta merde at section 6? was quite funny he wouldnt shut up saying it.. something must have pied him off on section 5? first lap
August 1, 201115 yr I once had Bruno and his Minder brother (Christophe?) having a go at the Wetherby World Round. The minder was running up the section carrying a kicker - he would place it, and then pick it up and move it if Brunco decided to take another line. They had lots to say and were really taking the p**s. I felt more like a football ref than an observer!!
August 1, 201115 yr did anyone hear him screaming puta merde at section 6? was quite funny he wouldnt shut up saying it.. something must have pied him off on section 5? first lap That'll be "puta madre". The Spaniards shout it a lot. Google it
