Who Thinks Non Stop Is A Good Idea

It's great for all us older riders - it's all we know

All this stopping, hopping & bopping makes us oldies dizzy

Seriously it depends on the terrain - if you access to plenty of natural sections like SSDT & Scott then no stop is great

I am with Johnnyboxer on this. Nothing more annoying at some trials when the kids start hopping about as the queue grows, lots of revs , more hopping and a bit more noise then ....................5.

Reason why the classic scene is busy in this neck of the woods I'd say. Good idea? Bad idea? Depends what you know??

If you stop it should be a 5 in my book otherwise it's just a balancing competition, but like has already been said that's what I was brought up on. Problem is sections evolved to allow stopping which therefore is generally too tight for no-stop so you need to adjust sections accordingly.

simple make sections flowing.but then modern bikes are so easy to ride it will be hard to take any marks.non stop is silly idea.how are the observers going to mark the riders?

When they stop, you give them a 5 - simples

I think non stop is a stupid idea ... Mabey good for the likes of Toni bou and Adam raga Ect but not for the younger riders !!!!!!!

What do you mean "younger riders", They are younger riders!!

As a novice I would concentrate on getting the basics right before worrying about hopping.

Compromise:

Balance is a skill. Trials is about skill.

Stop and Balance = 0

Stop with foot down = 5

Foot while moving = 1

Stop and Balance = 0 Start to lose balance, drop clutch then argue you were moving, not really a solution .

The Que problems are very easy to fix with minor changes to the current rules. Not everyone has dozens of stream beds to ride in or allowed to for that matter if we did.

Yet - lets change the rules to ones that we all know will create all sorts of problems scoring. Maybe the reason is that it helps one big manufacturer that owns the FIM and has a long history of trying to stack the deck. (remember - the FIM Trials committee decision was ignored and the FIM big wigs made up their own changes)
