Yes I know the Theory behind all the extra plastic, I like those top slider covers even less than your homemade ones. Surely they must make a noise when you are riding.

In all my years of riding I have never damaged a fork leg other than bending them (on a TL125) .

So what's the next project, Rhino bars? :hyper:

look at the first pic in this thread

Knew I should have appled for copyright, a 3m length of this stuff is less than a £10 in wickes, its rainwater piping i think. As others have said apply decals and at first glance nobody notices.

better than £70 for the carbon ones, the cheaper after market stuff breaks on impact

Just a guess......but surely you put shoes on in the morning before work ?? (Why? Because they look cool or because they protect your feet?).

Ive seen forks snap below the bottom clamp (a buddy who overtook me before a HUGE hole I new of, enduro), not pretty at all. No amount of protection will save that kind of impact, or a trials bike cart wheeling down some rocks.

As to fork guards making noise.......you doing it wrong.......slow down and the whistling will stop (cant think of any other way they might make noise).

Yes I do wear shoes to work, one day I might want to sell my feet, So don't want to damage them.

Balldilocks, Three rocks you say ??,don't think I have been to that venue.

Ok point taken we do ride in Mud, chalk and sand with lots of fallen trees down here.

I think Mung is seeing it my way, not yours TLTEL, and yes Mung, you are right, I also like to try to keep it looking good for myself as well, not to mention that a Marzocchi aluminum fork tube is $400 + in Canada if you accidentally drop one on a rock, for that sort of money a $10 piece of plastic protection is a very small price to pay
