  1. thanks guys, for future reference, it does indeed fasten to the back of the top radiator mount.
  2. Hi guys, I pulled my Rev 3 apart a couple of years ago, just getting everything back together and I cant fathom out where the Fan regulator fastens ? Cdi fits on the slider at centre of frame, Coil on top left fan fixing but not sure where the regulator attaches. Thanks in advance.
  3. Mudguards will fit 02>06, 07>08 have a slightly different frame. 01+ 02 have a different rear frame/air box which can be changed.
  4. We used to have a John shirt 250 mono. It was apparently John shirt jnr's. This bike had been sleeved down to approx 183cc we were told, something to do with abiding to youth rules at the time. We did a rebuild on the engine and the piston was matched up with a Yamaha blaster 200 quad bike. Other notable changes were rear shock, front brake, exhaust silencer, one off sprocket guard. I'm sure there were probably more mods as the bike never lacked in power even with the smaller capacity. Will try and upload a picture but it was a long time ago.
  5. Did you get this sorted using the other cdi/coil ? Would be interested at doing the same thing as think my cdi is dead. Can you tell me where you purchased this from ?
  6. Unfortunately everybody wants something for nothing on eBay. I'd try locals trials website, wobbly wills trials ads, maybe even gumtree too.
  7. I suspect the CDI has gone on my 02 rev 3, but with no way of testing it I don't want to splash the cash until im certain. I purchased a CDI complete with coil and CDI and this is what i' ve received. This doesn't look standard equipment to me as its much different to what I have, and have seen for sale elsewhere. I know they had a set up like this on the earlier Techno, and im happy to run with it if I can get it wired up to what I already have. The CDI/ COil does have these symbols which I assume indicates which wire does what. This is what I have currently
  8. Struggling to find the guide I used, but I did find this which lists the bearing numbers and seals which need replacement. http://www.trialscentral.com/forums/topic/52301-rev3-270-2003-main-bearing-sizes-and-help-please/ I used an impact gun to loosen the clutch whilst holding the basket with a copper coin as suggested above.
  9. I was always under the impression the foot peg mounts under the engine were from the original DT175, of which the TY origins were built from.
  10. Main bearings are relatively common in a bike of that age. We did our 2002 rev a while back, it was 100% reliable but rattled like hell. Confirmed by removing the flywheel casing and you could feel the play in the crank. Fairly simple job for a competent mechanic, having the right tools for the job is a must, and if you've got the new bearings and crank seals you'd have it done in a weekend. I found a link via Google which described the job in detail with pics.
  11. I think the RT100 + 185 are the same/similar bottom end ? And much more recent.
  12. I've checked this again today with my multimeter and its reading 460ohms rather than the 360 states earlier. According to the guidelines on the motoplat site this is a good reading? Think I'm going to have to bite the bullet and purchase a costly cdi ?
  13. 2002 Rev 3 isn't sparking, have checked the red and brown wires from stator which is giving me 360ohms which should be ok from what I've read. Is there any way of checking cdi unit ? Alternatively I've read that different cdi units can be fitted ? The Ducati type fitted to the earlier technos are combined with a coil and are only around £30 on eBay ? Would appreciate any feedback.
  14. I should also add, the brown wire shown going into the coil is actually earthed with the black wire on the fixing.
