Looking at a few pictures of Adam's bike I noticed the black grip tape/protectors just above the pegs on the frame (seen in both photos) does anyone know what this is and what it's for?

grip tape to help with lift i think

For rear wheel hops? I wonder if it's similar to the stuff they use on skateboards. I'd think rubber grip would be a little easier on the boots. Thoughts?

I think it is to protect the paint as well as giving the boot something to grip when the rider wants to move the bike sideways.

Rear wheel hop, swing the rear around while doing a nose wheelie (endo) etc...

I saw this close up at a WTC round, it is like skateboard grip tape.

I guess it is frame protection & grip for lift combined. Boot wear is probably less of a concern to Raga than any perceived advantage, notwithstanding the fact that he doesn't have to pay for the boots Sidi do!

It's odd because he doesn't seem to use it on the TRS, interesting...
