December 17, 20169 yr It seems my aux tank on the front of my bike doesn't seem to be syphoning in tot he main tank, now I'm sure it's something simple so simple that I can't see why not. Any help ??
December 17, 20169 yr Author Have you taken the cap off to vent it? The cap has two tubes, one filler, one vent.
December 17, 20169 yr Author I should say, I just assumed the aux tank would automatically fill the main tank, but it hasn't, is there something I'm not doing ??
December 17, 20169 yr Have you checked that tank, vent and filler tube are not blocked or have an air leak? If they are fine then the next thing to look at would be the main tanks cap and seal, if it isn't sealing well your not getting the suction you need as the fuel drains from the tank to create the syphon you need. They are a really basic system so the only other option would be if you don't have the needed volume in the main tank to get the syphon started?... Good luck.
December 17, 20169 yr Author It's brand new aux tank so there shouldn't be an air leak, there isn't any block or kink. Main tank cap and seal is a possibility. I wasn't aware the main tank needed a certain amount to get things started but if not full was "fairly" full initially.
December 18, 20169 yr It isn't really about fuel volume as much as lack of air volume. The less air the more affective everything gets started, the more air you have the longer it takes to generate the needed suction.
December 18, 20169 yr how about checking the non return valve is on the vent line and is flowing the correct direction

December 18, 20169 yr Author It's all part of the kit, main feed hose in aux tank then to main tank cap. Breather just comes from aux tank cap.
