Fuel Cans

Featured Replies

anyone got any suggestions where i might get a decent petrol can from. the plastic green and red ones are hopeless. keep leaking and the spout is never at the right angle especially in the middle of a trial when it's raining

Get yourself a metal Jerry Can. Halfords do them or try any decent motor factors.

Blimey! If you need to keep your petrol fresh, then your not riding often enough. B)

One other point is that a lot of european trials now, insist on metal cans for insurance/enviromental purposes.

Metal cans are fine, just don't leave them sitting on bare concrete in an area that has temperature changes - moisture will condense on the inside of the can. Keep them in an area that has a fairly constant temperature and store them on some wood blocks; up off the concrete.

Metal 'Jerry Cans' are available in NE England from your local Army + Navy Surplus store, they also sell flexible metal spouts.

I've seen watering can type fuel containers with a fixed spout with a cap on the end, but I don't know anywhere that sells them.

screwfix.com sell them with a pouring spout as an option.
