March 10, 20206 yr dear friends' 1. how often do you cange the fork oil? 2. what kind of oil is the best. the manual says sae 6.1 but i found sae 5w 100 % syntetic is it ok? 3. what quantity you use? i have seen earlyer post that pepole wrote specific quantity for every leg in cc but in my manual its says 297 g. can anyone approve that. 4. any good tips you can give for the first time that i am trying to replace the fork oil? appreciate your help...thanks
March 10, 20206 yr 1. every 2 years. 2. The oil recommended in the manual or an alternative with the same cst rating (different brands of 5w can vary a lot). 3. I think the manual specifies it by height but I don't have it to hand. You can do both with a normal bottle. 4. Remove wheel, undo top clamp then fork cap then bottom clamp. Don't be surprised that only one fork has a spring. Pump to get old oil out, then again to get the air out.
March 10, 20206 yr Looks like you might have to weigh the oil or see what years used the same forks and check those manuals. Mines a 2012 so a lot might have changed from the manual I use.
March 11, 20206 yr Author I checked earlier manuals and it seems that they changed the way of measurement from 2018.
