February 20, 200620 yr Anyone used Easy Start on bikes, its brilliant. I use it all the time, a quick spray in the filter gets the bike started sweet as a nut.
February 21, 200620 yr been told never to use it on my cars, eg, my carbed mini etc. because the engine will become dependent on it, and then wont like to start without it. Take that with a pinch of salt, just my two pence. Matt
February 21, 200620 yr what is it? if its ether, (diesel engine starting fluid) it works great, but tends to wash the oil out of filter and off the parts inside the engine. Have seen bad effects and seized pistons. I use WD40 as starting aid if the weather is good, only small amounts of ether if very cold. k
February 21, 200620 yr oh oh now while it certainly does work it can be addictive so use cautiously other wise one day the bike wont start no matter what you use..
February 21, 200620 yr Its not the engine that gets addicted, its the person squirting it in because it's easier/cheaper to do that than fix the real problem that makes the engine difficult to start. Some diesel engines do need it, the manufacturer even build a way of using it into the vehicle but trials bikes do not need it. Beware a large application can cause serious damage to engines, especially 2 strokes. I would never use it unless in very extreme minus temeratures which we don't tend to get in the UK. February 21, 200620 yr Timp is right, don't be using it in your 2 stroke. Find the problem and fix it right, or you'll have a bigger problem on your hands. Addiction? ...only if using the "blue" powerband
