March 30, 200620 yr I have a very tired fantic 240 which i'm working on at the moment and would appreciate the any help of the following please. 1. What length were the standard rear shocks , eye to eye. 2. To establish if mine are shot .... What thickness are the clutch plates supposed to be ? (I've got a micrometer). March 30, 200620 yr Hey Mate: Just went down to the shop and measured the shocks on my 83 240 Fantic which has the stock Marzocchi's on it.( Which are very good in my opinion) They measure 14inches from eye to eye! Can't help you on the clutch question though! Cheers, Steve
March 30, 200620 yr falcon shocks are the best and he will build them to suit your weight the 2 sizes for the fantic are 13.5ins or 13.9ins. not sure what were stanard we have used both. contact bill pye on 01642 722378. he knows all there is to know on fantics and has most parts
March 31, 200620 yr 36cm or 13,9 inches. Use the clutch plates you have as mine are under the change limit and the clutch doesnt slip. The springs are more important that the plate thickness. Lee

Lee <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Lee, The trouble is it slips in third now. Perhaps i'll try a small washer on each of the clutch bolts and see if that improves things. Is that what you meant ? Or perhaps i'll sell it ....Hmmmmmmm
April 19, 200620 yr Author Thanks for the replies. In the end i reduced the length of the tubular clutch spring spacers by 1mm making the springs compress more. This solved the problem with what appear to be new clutch plates. It also saved me dosh
