    240 Parts?

Bob Wright 01934 510333 and Bill Pye 01642 722378 are always worth speaking to for Fantic parts

    Fantic 200

Hi, I didn't try having a fiddle about with carb settings etc, when I found out how reasonably priced a new Dellorto could be had for I just went for one of those and have been happy with it ever since. I maybe should have given the OKO more of a chance but as the OKO is said to come set-up to use straight out of the box I put the problems down to wear due to cheap Chinese quality (maybe being a bit unfair but that was my first thought). Cheers Ross

    Fantic 200

It felt pretty flat/unresponsive off the bottom end. For example when approaching a step at low speed then when going to give it some throttle to get up the step it seemed to hesitate right when I wanted the power. I should maybe have played about with the set-up a bit more but decided to go for a new Dellorto instead when I found how they could be bought brand new fairly cheaply, and have been happy with how it has improved the bike. It now feels far smoother and I would definitely recommend the Dellorto.

    Fantic 200

I fitted one of the OKO carbs to my 240 but would have to say that although it seemed 'better' at first, I was never really happy with it and have now gone back to a Dellorto carb. I purchased a brand new original spec Dellorto from Bill Pye and have been far happier with the bike ever since. Perhaps this was a one off 'dodgy' OKO carb that I had, but I think I'll be sticking to the Dellorto from now on.
  5. I was told the same thing by Bill Pye recently after he rebuilt my 240. I had to tighten them up a bit more as it was leaking slightly at the cylinder base but didn't have to go crazy tight at all.
  6. Thanks for the responses guys, I'll just be patient and hopefully he'll get back to me soon. He was very helpful when I was dealing with him previously so you're right, definitely worth the wait. Cheers Ross
  7. Hi, I've been trying to contact Fred in NZ through his email address but haven't been getting any reply. I've not dealt with him in a number of years and was just wondering if anyone knows if he is still in business, or has anyone ordered parts from him recently? Thanks Ross
  8. Yep, use a bar with 2 holes and bolt to fly wheel, then use your work bench as a 'back-up' to wedge the bar against as you try to slacken the nut. Your weight on the wrench as you try to slacken the nut should keep the engine and bar on the bench.
  9. I got one of these from Steve Saunders www.saundersextremesports.co.uk It took a while for mine to arrive from Italy through SXS and you have to keep chasing him up, Steve seems to be a bit un-organised but is very helpfull.....in fact I've just remembered that I need to check up on the black front one that I asked him about!
  10. Hey, From what I've heard from people who have had their bikes inspected by the DVLA for registration, the only thing they check is that the frame and engine numbers match the paperwork. I'm not sure for definite though as thankfully when I registered my monkeybike, the DVLA office in Aberdeen didn't ask to see the bike so it saved me some hassle. Anyway, goodluck and hopefully it won't be too much more of a pain in the hoop to get it sorted.
  11. Not sure on the cost for a piston, but i recently bought an original piston ring for my 240 from Bob Wright for
  12. I ordered a pair of Falcon shocks for my Fantic 240 a month or so ago, and had them within a week. Was very impressed with the service.
  13. One of the dealers was advertising them in T & MX news a couple of weeks ago for
  14. I would hardly call it running ............... more of a staisfied swagger
