I am not a motorcycle mechanic and until I moved to Spain mainly had four stroke bikes. However a friend has brought his Beta TR34 to me because it starts ok but bogs down immediately. year unknown. I have dismantled the carb (Dellorto PHBH26 TD) and blown out the jets and airways but to no avail. Any hints and tips would be much appreciated. BC.

I wonder if anyone can help me! My 1980 349 doesn't have a yellow but it does have a white, purple, blue, green, red and brown. Bike runs but I don't know what colours are for. Dip,main, horn, main feed and kill switch. I understand that stop lamp wiring goes nowhere near the handlebar switch. Are the lights supposed to be permanently on? I don't have the original switch but do have a Bultco one. I am in Spain up in the mountains and it's a Spanish market bike.

rocker1 started following Colorful cables, just like my closet looked in the 80s :-) Cotta 349

Just asked my Spanish friend (I live in Spain) and he said Montesa's are referred to as Mountain bikes and Montesa Costa means " mountain leveler" Not 100% but makes sense.

My Bultco 350, TL125 Honda and Montesa 349 all hit the footrest. I followed the TL solution for the Spanish bikes and fitted a spring hook to hold the footrest up out of the way giving a lovely long swing for easy starting. Once warm if you stall a quick prod gets it going without having to hook up the footrest.

Thank you I use Inmotion but they supply Electrex units that I am trying to avoid. Also I would need a Femsa heavy rotor as it’s not included in the kit

Good morning. I have a Bultaco Alpina model 213 and would like to fit electronic ignition. Having had a bad experience with Electrex I am looking for an alternative. I emailed Vape and they quoted two prices and when I queried it they stopped answering my emails. I understand that PVL (?) do an ignition but the only place I can find that sells is EBay. has anyone experience with this, recommend a supplier, have any ideas on prices for a unit with lighting coils? Thank you.

I have two other bikes with Bing carburettors that perform perfectly. my 350 Alpina (1977) however has always been a trifle fluffy on low throttle openings. I have just fitted new needle and jet as part of a service and the needle clip was in the lowest groove, what is the recommend position or is it just suck it and see. Thanks.

Good morning my 350 Alpina came with a broken kickstart spring can I replace it without splitting cases, if not what is the procedure to complete the job. Tia

I had Seager do both exhausts on my Norton Commando I am very happy with them.

No bathroom scales or I would have used them. Just thought someone would know. I will buy a spring balance next time I am in the city or take the engine down to the town (15k) and put it on the pharmacy scales.

Good evening I need to send my Ossa MAR engine complete with head and barrel from Spain to the UK. I have no way of weighing it can anyone tell me what it weighs? also any hints on a good and cheap carrier would be appreciated.

My Ossa Super Pioneer 1976 has just passed the ITV. It does not have a front brake light switch nor did it have a mirror fitted. -
Carole Nash Off Road Insurance

I used to love Carole Nash before they went all commercial. I had three bikes insured with then and they asked what else I owned. I said a motor home and they duly quoted. Three times more than my current premium. when I queried it they said " we don't really like motor homes" -
Me? I live just north of Gergal in the mountains.
