Is there anything wrong with using a Tubeless Dunlop D803 with a tube in it, on my vintage Twin shock? How different are the two tires; Tube Type & Tube Less. I thought I ordered Tube Type, but just realized they say Tubeless on the side. Again, they are Dunlop D803's. Thanks

Hi. Need to replace the rear shocks on my KT250 and have decided to go for Falcon steel shocks. Before ordering them I would be grateful if anyone could advise if I should alter any of the standard settings. The standard falcon trials shocks for the KT are 13.9" length (353mm) with 50lb/in springs. Regarding weight, I am about 12 stone with kit (give or take). I don't intend using the bike for serious competition riding (I'm not good enough anyway) but none the less would like to get the bike setup as best I can without spending silly money. Also, minor point really, but I notice that the quoted size of the KT lower shock mounting studs (as noted in Falcon product …

Hi, has anyone else suffered from their KT tank leaking. It looks as though mine has a slight crack where the rubber strap pulls over. As its going to need welding can anyone help with the original colour codes or where I would be able to buy the tank decals. Thanks Andy

Hi there, Looking for help again please. Need new tyres for my KT and just want to check what size tyres should be fitted. The bike has currently got 3.00 x 21" front and 110 x 18" rear. I think the standard sizes are supposed to be 2.75 x 21 front and 4.00 x 18 rear. The wheel rims are D.I.D 1.60 x 21 and 1.85 x 18 front and rear respectively. Can anyone please confirm that these are the right type/size rims, i.e. factory standard, and what size tyres should be fitted? Also would appreciate any advice on which make of tyres to fit - don't plan on making bike road legal so trial use only tyres required. Many thanks

I have heard that putting TY forks on a KT make a huge difference in the handling traits. I was wondering if switching the triple clamps would have a similar affect since they appear to have less offset or if the front wheel will eve line up. Anyone ever tried it???

Does anyone know if the Montesa 242 cases are shared with any other Montesa model? If I want to get this bike going some day I will need to find a set. My cases have been "customized" to be nice. The bike wasn't running when I got it. I took the clutch cover off to fix the shifter spring and found the new bolts that don't belong. Thanks, Scott

Hi, Just bought a '75 Cota 247 - nice bike and looks to be the same as any other Cota BUT it has what was described as a 'one and a half seat'. The seat is deep and padded, not ideal for trials but it'd be nice and comfy on the road. Its obvious that its genuine Montesa and not just an aftermarlet seat but I can't find any pics or details of it anywhere else.... Anybody know what it is ???

Hi there! I've got the above mentioned bike in what I believe to be classic Ossa green, it's still running, just needs a bit of a clean-up; I've got the original handbook, MOT certificates from the 70s and, obviously, the registration document - I'm only its second owner. I've decided it's time for the old girl and I to part ways but don't have much idea of how much to charge for her; I've tried to have a look around to see how much they're going for but she must be rarer than I thought as I can't find one for sale! Can anyone give me a ballpark figure at all? Thanks guys!

Hi. I recently retired and I have just started the restoration of a 1976 Honda TL125S. The bike came with an engine from a SL125, but the cylinder head is unuseable. Has anyone fitted a Honda CG125 engine to one of these bikes? Will any CG engine fit? I am hoping to use the bike on the roads. Any help you can offer will be appreciated. Thanks. JOHN

Hello, can someone tell me, how much play/clearance/backlash between immersion tube and standpipe is permissible, or is usual (Betor-Forks). The 0.15mm feeler gage can be pushed between them well. And in another case the backlash is even so large, that the shaft seal does not fit any longer. Peter
