Over the weekend our club (Ridgerunners Santa Cruz, CA) put on the British American Cup at Hollister Hills. My Dad started the event in 1971 and has had past winners such as Marland Whaley, Lane Leavitt, Scott Head, Kip Webb. One of the writers from City Bike came out and took photos and wrote a story and has it posted on the web www.southbayriders.com/forums/showthread.php?+=39474 There are some awesome photos and a small story. They are going to run a shorter story in the magazine. It is pretty impressive what an article can do to get some attention to the sport. The writer was at an Enduro and ran into Adrian Lewis from Lewisport. Adrian invited him to come up. He …

No one in the US makes a living competing so why are they called Pro? If you ride that class don't you feel embarrassed calling yourself a Pro? If you have ambitions to make that class and once you do, you still need a regular job or parent's money to support your riding.

I watched the Red bull last man standing endurance race on the Speed channel this evening. It was the closest thing to trials i,ve seen on the box. In fact ,it seemed that the riders with trials experience seemed to do the best, with lot of trials like obstacles. Geoff aaron was one of the riders competing on an interesting 2 wheel drive bike. I,m sure they will show it again if you missed it. Well worth watching.

At the NATC meeting, it was decided that the AMA and NATC would encourage clubs in each region of the country to organize a regional championship series. The Mid East Regional Championships have been established as a part of that effort for NATC/AMA regional series championships and maybe we're the first to get (somewhat) organized! The Mid-East series is hosted by Florida Trials Association (FTA), Southeastern Trials Riders Association (STRA), and Trials, Inc. TI of the midwest with the events as follows: March 3/4 Fun-n-Sun Trial, FTA, Ocala, FL April 28/29 Spring Splash, STRA, Sequatchie, TN Sept. 1/2 Dixie Cup, TI, Carrolton, KY Each event includes 2 rounds on a …

How many trials people are motorcycle industry people? At the Expo I saw a lot of trials people, that are deep into the industry. Are you as a trials rider connected to the motorcycle industry in such a way that provides you income?

Given that this weekend is the weekend of Motorama (in Pennsylvania), and they aren't having the motorcycle trials this year , I figured maybe I'd upload some video of Motorama from years past. If I get some time maybe I'll upload some more. This particular video is of Chris Florin competing in Motorama in February of 2005: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-2837863957907507407

One of my buddies here just recently brought up something in another forum topic regarding this issue. The requirement of these things by certain governments sort of boggles my mind! In my mind, these little screens are worthless little expensive pieses of junk, thankfully they are not required here! I am just not sure I am 100 percent comfortable with this logic, as even though my memory is short, I cannot recall any sparks being SPEWN FURTH by any bikes! I have seen FLAMES from the exhaust of some 4T bikes, not in trials, but never anything I can recall from a sooty 2T but smoke, and the little screens certainly will not prevent flames! Same in a backfire situation…

I know it has been too quiet here, so I will start it! Why is it some or most of the manufacturers of trials machines just cannot seem to get it right? Everyone has a love/hate relationship with the bike it seems, some more than others. Do the Spanyards, Itialians, French or Japs even understand ENGLISH? Beta's p***, Gassers pegs fall off, Sherco mudguards do not fit properly and twist, God help you on a 4t whatever! Mont= more money, that will help! This is nothing new, and at the cost of bikes, well-------comments welcomed HERE! Tell your stories! Some of this crap should have been recalled! Lets hear it!

We don't pick up on everything and don't have time to keep tabs on all that goes on so your help in a bit of policing would be appreciated. If a certain individual says a single bad word about the NATC or Wiltz Wagner on these forums please click the "Report" button below the post to bring it to our attention. I did mention an alternative forum for you guys for some of the more crazy stuff you talk about that tends to go WAY off topic....cough....ringo....cough as there was a fair bit of light-hearted banter in the forum that shall not be mentioned If you want it speak up, but it won't bear anyone's name and the same will apply as mentioned above. A few names were sugge…

I was paging through the January issue of Mens Journal and they had an article about the Best Motorcycles of 2007 and What the Pros Ride on Their Own Time. It had a panel of four Pros that gave their opinion of several different types of bikes. The panel consisted of Nicky Hayden, Travis Pastrana, Steve Hengelveld and our own Geoff Aaron! Each expert had a little bio. Geoff weighed in on the BMW R1200. Pretty cool to get Trials in a mainstream publication like that.

The details are a bit raw at the moment - but word from the X-Games is, Phillip Smage has set a couple of world records in the SnowSkate events. Needless to say, the family is very proud of you. If you're not whooping it up too much in Aspen and reading this Phillip - call home. Mom's (Northern Normie) waiting to hear from ya. World Record #2

I have ridden bicycle trials for 15 years and want to start in moto-trials. I live in Billings, MT and have lots of hills, trails and some rocks to ride. Wyoming is close and has a very active club. I plan to compete in the upcoming season of trials events they host. I have ridden or raced about every type of bicycle around (MTB, BMX, Road, and of course Trials). I also raced motocross during high school, but haven't had a motorcycle for 15 years. I love dirt riding and bike trials, so I figure I will really enjoy it on a trials motorcycle. I am starting to look for a used trials motorcycle. I have gotten some limited advice from a few local riders. But I would l…
