  1. I had the stator rewound by west country windings, so i hope that that is fine, I put it all together and i only get an occasional spark when i press and release the kill button. nobody seems to know why. Tested and replaced wiring, earths etc etc etc 10 times, so i might have just have a bad CDi, Only way to know is to try a good un' and see if she runs. ??? Tried everything else. I can collect anywhere 50 miles from london and will return plus several tins of beer in the same week. Would just buy a second had one, and keep it for a spare if the price was ok, but there are none about at the moment, and i need to get riding...

It doesn't have a leaky valve and holds pressure ,but sometimes if i run about 3.5 psi it'll deflate. Observer yesterday said this brand os a soft sidewall, whereas the Michelin has a firmer sidewall, I can't remember the brand IWC maybe? Anyway any thoughts about this?

Was looking at the bosi website earlier which is based in Italy. Just wondering if any UK based beta owners have bought from it and how they found them to deal with, plus how reasonable, or not, as the case might be, was postal charges etc?

Bought 10% stiffer springs to suit my 'manly' frame. Can anybody shed any light how to remove the front spring? I've removed the fork cap, the conical tube, but there is another preload tube on top of the spring that won't budge. Also, any advice with removing the rear spring? I've backed off the preload, but struggling to remove the collar and release the spring. Thanks

Hi, I have recently bought Beta 270 rev3 2008 and tried to adjust idle speed with little success. The engine does not run smoothly and if I adjust it for less than 2000 rpm it dies (the manual says more than 1000rpm). When I fiddled with the knob on the cable extension from the air screw (it was either stuck or turning badly) to find out what position it was in the cable broke off. I am not an expert but I think there must be a reason for the cable, say if you operate the bike in extreme environment for example. Can somebody please advise me (before I take it out for a good look and find out I cannot do anything without the new part): 1, do I need a new cable w…

Hi. New to this site, but I've read forums here a bunch of times. Looking for any ideas on why my bike is so hard to start, and suggestions on how to fix the problem. I just bought a 2000 beta rev3 250 last week. When i went to get it the guy was working on it. He said he went to start out before i got there, but it wouldn't start. I looked it over and figured out what the problem was and offered him less money. Water had gotten under the stator cover and rusted things. I cleaned it all up and that fixed no spark problem. The hydraulic clutch wasn't working engaging all the way. I fixed that. Then it was back firing. The next day ( today) it kept dying. I figur…

Not trying to start one of these silly which bike is best threads, honestly! I know it's a futile exercise. I am however intrigued to hear trials peers thoughts on this. I have predominately ridden Gassers for the past five years with a vertigo and TRS thrown into the mix. Today I had a quick go on a 19 factory beta and I have to say it felt incredibly easy to ride, it was a 250. A mate was studying it and saying its a 16v shock in contrast to the latest Rieger/ohlins offerings of leading brands. It doesn't have the latest tech forks etc plus the design is prehistoric. Now I know they have been around a while but I also know they are reliable. My question is, ar…

The threads on here about mapping switches show a lot of confusion and contradictory information. Hardly surprising because it looks like the writer of the handbook had had a little too much Lambrusco the day he did the electrical section. Items 5 and 6 (mapping and light switches) are labelled the wrong way round on the wiring diagram. According to the manual (2014, English) the H hard setting is to give a gentler response and S soft is for a more aggressive response! At first I thought it might be a mis-translation so I checked the Italian version and that was the same. Then I wondered if H and S were supposed to mean something else. H for humedo (wet) and…

Hi all, I've posted this on the Beta80 section but feel it needs a wider audience. Does anybody know someone that can add some weight to our flywheel? I've heard if has been done and it's a great mod. Just need an Engineer. Pm me if preferred. Regards Paul

  15. It is extremely easy to cross thread the gas cap on my 2019 Beta during installation. A friend said the same is true with his 2018. I have read that older Betas had aluminum caps rather than plastic like the 2018-2019 Betas. Any cross threading situation can be cured by changing one or both threads to blunt start threads. The attached picture shows the modified gas cap. Modifying the female thread in the gas tank would require careful flushing of the gas tank afterwards so I opted to only modify the gas cap male. I used an exact knife to remove about two full threads from the gas cap which creates a male pilot to properly align the gas cap. I then used a Dr…

I just purchased a 2012 beta Evo 300 4t. I have not been riding trials very long and had a jotagas 300 previously. I purchased the beta on its condition and had never ridden a 4t trials bike. Well it was a revelation I did not ride for 2 months or so as had a shoulder injury, but went straight to a trial without ever riding the beta. I was like a kid on Christmas unloading when I got to the trial, signed on then off to the 1st section, i normally ride sportsman and going to go clubman next year, it was a 1 route trial set up fairly easy and the weather had been kind. I had a walk of the 1st section then I was the 1st rider to open the section. Having …

My 2018 Beta 200 Evo will go to the mechanic next week. I did no change for the rad coolant and it is as the dealer or Beta did for coolant inside the rad when I bought the bike. Is it safe to travel with the Evo in my trailer for 2 hours at -20C* outside. It is winter here. The coolant must be freezing proof as other bikes unless you change it? Thanks for your help.
