I am trying to replace the Mains Seals on a 2004 Rev3. I'm struggling with the Primary Drive end of the Crankshaft. Could someone clarify whether the nut is Right-Hand or Left-Hand thread. Any tips for getting it off (I don't have an impact wrench).

Sorry about this dumb topic but I removed the top bolt from the kickstart lever and removed the kickstart. I'm not sure if anything fell out but when I put it back on the kickstart is not returning to the rest position and is flopping out. What's the part no need to buy if something dropped out when I removed it. Thanks

Hi. Our boy's Beta 80 (2014 b/w) starts and runs sweet from cold, but as it warms up, it's as though it's retarding. It feels tight like it's going to seize, has no power off the bottom, and sounds a bit rough. It revs out though. Fast 'blipping' of the throttle in neutral fails ("bwoooor"). Slightly slower blipping is fine, but it's like it can't wait to get back to tick over (i.e. no run-on of the revs). Leave it overnight, and the next day it's fine for 5 minutes, then same again. We have tried re-positioning the CDI to get it away from the direct heat of the cylinder / exhaust. No change. We have tried a brand new CDI. No change (no change in fact out £180!!). All man…

Hello, great forum. Learned a lot from reading. Im totally new to trials and of course went out and purchased a brand new Beta 300 Factory edition Evo. Love the bike, however it’s just to much. Wish I would have bought the 250. Anyway, any advice or anyway to de tune other than the obvious means on the bike using the two modes?

There has been a bit of movement on the steering head ever since I got this bike, so this week I decided to do something about it. Being taper roller bearings, I expected it to be just a matter of adjustment. I took it all apart and cleaned the bearings. The roller races felt good and the bearing surfaces looked nice. I re-greased and started to re-assemble. I have the Top Team triple clamps and spindle, which may be slightly different to standard. Having got it all back together I dropped it on the ground and checked it: worse than before!? Blaming myself, I took off the handlebars and loosened the top clamp again. I was able to get a bit more movement on the a…

Any tips for removing seized swinging arm bearings? And putting in the new ones? I managed to remove the top hat inner races after a struggle but the seals and the outer races are still firmly in place. I would like to avoid the use of a hacksaw if possible.

We have a brand new 2019 beta 80 junior, it had done 3 trials and everything was fine. The bike sounded nice and it never missed a beat. I washed the bike etc including stripping the carb and rebuilt it and the bike wouldn't start, I changed the plug and everything was fine. Then this Saturday my son rode an event and warming up before the trial the bike stopped, I checked the plug and there was no spark, so another plug went in and it run fine and sounded perfect, during the trial the bike seemed to sound slightly different and then it coughed and banged and stopped, another plug and it was fine for a bit and then it did it again. so in all I went through 4 pl…

Does Bosi Mudguard and Front Fender (with Bosi bracket) fit my 2018 Evo 200. If you have installed these on a 2018 Evo 200 or know it will fit without problems, please let me know.

Hi All my clutch is driving me insane! Had the bike stripped, (06 rev3), with the engine out and the clutch hose disconnected at the slave cylinder. Since I've reassembled I can't get the clutch to generate any hydraulic pressure. Got new master cylinder seal kit installed, checked tightness on all connections, replaced banjo bolt washers and tried bleeding every way I can think of. Can't seem to get fluid to flow through freely on reverse bleeding. I think i'm getting air drawn in somewhere but have no sign of fluid leaking out. when I try to draw fluid through from the bottom with a syringe the bubbles go on forever. Thought the bleed screw was the problem but trie…

Ralph bought one of these carbs last week for a try, I very nearly bought one in the summer due to running problems but hesitated as I did'nt fancy weeks of setting it up. Carb on the bike today and wished I had bought one ages ago, I had a feeling the bike would run slightly better but the difference is incredible, had a go on it and really did nt want to give it back. The engine note has changed, the throttle is light, its picks up really easily and revs clean all the way through. The bottom end grunt has increased dramatically and I never noticed any pinking, fluffing or trail of petrol all day. The bike was nt running to bad before but it has transformed into withou…

  16. Has anyone bought or made cushioned or rubber mount handle bar risers for trials? I have the Beta Factory fork clamps so do have removable risers. I'm already running Jitsie bars which flex more than the OEM Beta bars. The KTM PHDS mounts certainly look like they would fit but the official email response was "no". I also would not know what model to order. https://www.motosport.com/ktm-powerparts-phds-handlebar-mounts Mako 360 is another option but I have not gotten a response from them. https://xcgear.com/mako-360/ Flexbars look like they move in just one plane so when pushed forward trials style probably would not help much. https://www.fasstco…

My old Rev has the Paioli 38mm forks, now defunct. When we bought the bike the fork seals had "just been replaced" (presumably by the previous owner). After a couple of months or so there was a new leak (R/H). I got a local mechanic to fit new seals as it was cheaper (£45) than going back to the dealer - he reported the fork brace was loose. I therefore assumed the previous owner had been ham fisted. After what is now 6-7 months we have another leak. I cannot see any damage or marks on the stanchions and the forks function OK it is just a bit wet. (L/H only) The black coating is uniform and not showing obvious wear. I assume that the forks will gradually bend…

I have just picked up my beta evo 300 factory from a shop they sold it to me fully serviced. BUT. They are not a trials bike shop. Anyway I know it’s meant to take 550ml but will only put in around 500ml to allow for what will be left in the engine. The thing I want ask is the oil window is full and even if I lean the bike over I can not see the oil drop down. Now I might be wrong but should the oil fill the hole window or should it only be half way up the window as I think they have filled it to much. I will be dropping it out tomorrow anyway as I do not trust it’s been done right. Obviously I will find out tomorrow once I have dropped the oil out and checked how much is…
