Dear fellow trials riders. I am reaching out to ask if anyone could assist or help me in my wee query. I have a couple of chips - scratches on one of my stanchions which I want repaired, they have damaged a fork seal so it needs done. Filling and poishing the scratches just doesn't do it for me. So does anyone know of any reputable companies or people that repair stanchions? I would also like to get the pair re done with the black nitrite coating as well. I have searched the internet but there is none that do what I am wanting. Original replacements are £360 each stanchion so I would like to think repairing them is going to be cheaper. The forks …

I dind’t really see this addressed yet. I just picked up a 2016 300 Factory 4T and I’m fitting the long range tank I got from someone. The instructions I’ve seen are all for the 2-stroke, the fuel line seems to have a bit of an off routing. Anyone here mounted one and how did you run it? thanks Mark

Although I am quite old and that I could not practice that often on a bicycle, I think that buying a used BMX bicycle with front and rear brakes could get me started (before my first step in Trials next spring) with balance, weight transfer when climbing a 6" to 12" step as a starter and really trying to have a start at weight transfer from front to back or vice versa. The weight transfer and balance combine to throttle handling and clutch slipping and clutch habilities is so important from the info I get from video's and comment's in general. Ryan Young sure puts a picture to it when you watch his videos. It might help until my first Trial season starts next April 2…

Hello; I'm 54 and a heavily addicted adventure rider. I own a couple of acres of redwood forest and have been thinking about getting a trials bike to put around on the property to work on balance and control. Full disclosure, I rode dirt bikes as a young man for a few years, but was never a really an accomplished rider. Raced mountain bikes very seriously for years after that, but hadn't had my leg over a motorcycle in 25 years when I bought my KTM 1190 Adv R in 2014. I have always had really good balance and could ride my mounting bike through very difficult terrain, but at the same time couldn't do a track stand. So, long story short, while I do a good amount of of…

Hi. Just got a 2016 evo factory, my old 2010 has an ohlins rear shock. Will this swap over to the 2016? I thought I'd ask rather than get both in bits and find out it's not compatible. Thanks rob

Just bought a used 2013 EVO 3004T and have been having a blast riding in my yard everyday after work like when I was a kid. Bike is super quiet and the neighbors down't care. Anyway the foot-pegs are messed up. Looking for some foot-pegs, they can be steel or Aluminum. Don't care. The stock pegs are $50 a piece plus shipping. Looking to spend $60 or so total for 2 pegs. Don't need no fancy $150 pegs. I am also willing to put on used pegs if in good shape. Along the same line I bought some pegs from eBay for $39 that look like Fastway pegs and were beautiful. Unfortunately they didn't fit. If you know of other bikes that use the same pegs as the EVO tha…

Hi....Can't seem to find a definitive answer on ignition coil resistance values for the rev3. seen 3 & 10000 ohms quoted but also saw a test for a leonelli coil suggesting 0.6 & 11k. Testing mine I'm getting 0.6 ohms on the primary and 4,500 ohms on the secondary. Can anyone tell me if this is out of spec? Thanks in advance.

I bought a 2016 300 4t last year and noticed that American Beta sold an oil pump upgrade kit to decrease engine braking. I believe it was the same as the 2018 models so I bought one. I got used to the engine braking before installing so this past year it just sat in a cabinet. Recently, I have been going back and forth the between the 4T and a 2T and the engine braking was the most challenging part of transition so I finally installed the upgrade. It is just a slightly wider (3/16" maybe) pump module. It makes a significant difference. I actually forgot about the install for about 1/2 of the first ride back on the 4T and did not notice braking so it did the trick.

My boys Beta 80 keeps killing spark plugs and I'd like a little help with it please. Most of the time they only last a few hours then you have to fit a new one. When you take an knackered one out it is black with oil not brown and dry like I think it should be. You can clean it up till it's spotless but it will never start the bike, does spark against the frame though. It's had a new fuel filter, air filter, carb stripped and cleaned and setup but nothing changes, I must be missing something. I've been using around 70ml of Ipone strawberry 2 stroke to 5 litres of normal unleaded. We've been lucky so far that it hasn't left us stranded but it has nearly ruin…

How do you hold the flywheel when tightening the retaining nut on a Beta 4T? (post 2014 2Ts may be the same) There are no threads to interface with like the older 2Ts. I bought a Tusk tool for this purpose but it is too small to fit the flywheel. I have a rubber strap wrench but it can not get a good bite.

Hi all, This may have been covered but here goes. I have 30 hours on the bike and everything was fine from new but once it was run in it started to bang under load from long step banks. The bike shop sent me a new CDi thinking this was the issue all was fine last week and until the later part of today the banging came back after the bike was really hot. This banging noise does not happen on the new 19 model so I am lost to why it is doing it. Has anyone got any ideas to what it could be? I had betas years ago and not had this kind of issue I have only just come back into the sport and with it banging like it is am worried it's doing damage to the bore or piston.
