I’m about to change my bike. Had my Montesa 4RT 2016 from brand new. Hardly ridden but nice to have a new bike (someone will get a minter in due course). The brief is simple. Something that needs zero maintenance (bar usual ongoing stuff) and will chug though easy routes. My question is (given above) should I go from Montesa to Beta? I’m not convinced on build quality or residuals of Beta versus Montesa. Honest views?

Help Please I have just got my son a new beta 80 junior small wheel 2020, a couple of things we noticed on his first time on it was that when ever he went through some water he would get a short distance further on and the bike would cut out, once it had a few minutes to dry it would start again then be great in the dry but would cut out if getting wet. Also if he would crack the throttle open quick it would bog and sometimes it would stall if he did it really quick. I took it back to the dealer and they did some work on it, they said the fuel mixture screw was only a quarter turn out and normally this is one and a half turns out and they also dropped the n…

I have just renewed the pistons and seals in the rear calliper of my Evo 250. Unfortunately I damaged one of the seals as I was putting it together. Is there a source for seals only as it seems a shame to spend another 30 odd quid when all I need is one seal?

Hi, quick question if I may, which I know may have been covered before on older Betas but this is new. Slight clutch drag ie, not disengaging instantly which is frustrating on a new bike but im told (having never owned one before) that it is common on Beta and will need a good 'running in' and oil change. On questioning the oil type/grade we all seem to have our own personal ideas and preferences indeed reasons why one is better than the other. A couple of dealers suggest either Putoline NANO TRANS or GP10, others with good riders suggest part synthetic, not fully synthetic and others good grade 4T 10/30 or 10/40. Some have recommended a clutch mod but surely that isn't n…

Hi, I know its like asking "What's the best flavour ice cream" But is the 300 evo soft or not? I am an average rider , getting on in age , and always sing the virtues of 200 Betas, but they are like hens teeth... Loads of good looking 300's around , for reasonable money... But are they too fiery ?? Owner replies please.

Is the outer boot/seal available separately for the 2017 onwards rear master cylinder? I've done a few searches and I can only find the full kit. I've just tore one clumsily fitting a new master cylinder in the dark, the batteries ran out on the flood lights. Expensive mistake if I have to buy a £25 repair kit.

I purchased a like-new (or so the previous owner said....) Rev 3 and have been absolutely perplexed as to why the shock’s top mounting will not accept the mounting plate and why the mounting plate will no longer accept the shock bolt? Unbelievably frustrating as I cannot imagine a more straight-forward procedure...remove shock, replace shock only now it absolutely refuses to fit! Photos attached for reference. Thanks in advance for any suggestions -

I’d like to get at the front sprocket to remove the gunk that has accumulated around it and the chain, but I’m a bit concerned what would happen when I take off this plastic cover. I suspect that there’s a metal plate under it and the innards won’t spill out onto the road, but I need a little bit of reassurance, because I’m a snowflake. All advice welcome.

I’ve rigged up a horn with my indicator lights to make the bike road legal and replaced the headlight bulb which had long died a death. The indicators and horn are working, but the headlight is not working. Does anyone have any advice. I’m pretty much a novice with this stuff.

Hi Folks My rear shock is not performing well. Weaping a bit and with the spring off it takes about 12.5 kg of force to push the shock down. Read it should be around 25Kg. It could be that it has just lost some nitrogen charge. And the seal need to be replaced. No one seems interested to rebuild this Pailoli in Australia so i might just give it a go myself. So i am looking at two options 1/ Option 1. Rebuilding the shock myself - Crossing my fingers the bladders is not blown. so far I have found and correct me if I am wrong * Oil Quantity is 85ml *Oil Grade is 2.5W * Nitrogen pressure is 150 Psi * I may be able to get a s…

I am looking into buying a used Beta Evo 4t 300. I know they changed the frame somewhere around 2012 when they went to hydro-forming? Have there been any other significant changes over the years? Will a 2013 to 2019 be basically the same or are there years to avoid / updates to install?
