Ask ten Beta owners what the worst maintenance task on a Beta is and eight of ten will say bleeding the rear brake. The other two don’t work on their own bikes. OK maybe that’s an exaggeration but it really is evil. My rear brake has been squeeky and weird since a get off last year that bent the disk. Replacing the disk helped but still not right so I went to replace the pads and the hex head on the pad retaining bolt stripped out. Ugh! Screw it. Replace the caliper though I know it meant the dreaded bleed. Hook up the lines, fill the reservoir and pump, pump, pump.... Too much air to make it work. Syringe back bleed to the master alternating push/pull monitoring le…

I replaced the 38mm Paioli front fork oil on my 1996 Beta Techno and it was pretty dirty and thin. I noticed smoother fork action with the new 5wt oil. I suspect the rear shock oil is also in poor condition as well. Can I replace the oil in this shock? I think it is non adjustable, but have not seen the top of the shock yet. I have rebuilt Showa and WP pressurized shocks on enduro bikes, but never tried a trails shock before.

  3. I've decided to keep my 250 4t and I'm looking for an arrow exhaust and recommended rear shock upgrade options? Can anyone help? It's a 2013

Who buys standard bikes instead factory and why? Other than money. Cant get my hands on a factory 300 2t right now in the USA. Should I just go standard or is worth the wait. Apparently they will be available end of June. Also if anyone really knows the difference of the two ... Can you just buy after market parts and make the standard a "factory" other than color?

I have a 2001 Rev3 that is a little sharp off idle so I would like to try a weight. I have one for a 2008 but it is a different size. I can make one. Does anyone have any details like diameter, thickness weight or even a picture. I find nothing on line.

  13. Hi there. I have a Beta Rev 3 2008 with KEIHIN carb. The bike starts great with the choke. The second I touch the throttle it bogs down and dies. As soon as it’s slightly warm I can turn the throttle fully open quickly and it’ll bog for a second and spring to life. No problem whatsoever when warm. Could this be a fuel issue? Maybe need a slight adjustment to the air screw? Thanks

Hi there, Just torn my REV 3 270 motor down for new bearings and seals and am going through other items whilst I wait for parts. I've never used the bike as it had a few issues when I bought it. I have a few questions please - some may be dumb but its been 10 yrs since I had a 2 stroke apart and a few brain cells have said rendex vous, if anyone can help: 1) Rings - My bike has a Vertex piston (I'm not sure whether this is the original make of piston) looks in good condition. When I push the rings into the barrel the 2 ring gaps measure up at 0.5 and 0.7. I've read in the evo manual that the gaps limit is 0.6mm. Do I leave or replace? And if I use as is should I…

Can you buy a Beta 4t throttle tube by itself somewhere? I see the whole throttle assembly on line but not just the tube. Do the quads using the same carb use the same throttle? Could this be it? https://domino-usa.com/shop/off-road/throttle-controls-off-road/4t-throttle-controller-ktm5065/

I don't think I've touched the suspension setup on my 2014 250 Evo since I got it last year. But now being under house arrest, I've cleaned and polished everything, I stood beside the bike with rag in hand defying any speck of dust to land on it, and then I thought I would see if I can do anything to improve the suspension generally. I've just been looking at the Owner's Manual and that is about as much use as a chocolate teapot. My intention is to set up the sag by adjusting preload at both ends. I've seen figures of 33% and 38%. Any other opinions? I think it's best to get the oil out of the forks and replace it as I have no idea what is in there or how much. …

What year did Beta improve/change their rear tubeless tire from having the rubber band around the middle? I've heard the newer Beta's use a different type of tubeless wheel than my '09 EVO has... Cheers
