  1. Hi guys, newbie here, just got into trials and bought myself a Beta Evo 300 4T this week to have ago at some trials. Noticed that when the engine is running in neutral it’s noisy from the clutch side, soon as I engage the clutch the noise goes. Is this normal or something to strip down to have a look at. Sorry if this has been asked before. cheers Dean ??

I have a 2008 Rev3 200 and the response is quite soft. I ran it with a 250 top end for a while and it did have more power but the response was still soft. It has the fast throttle and Keihin carb. Everything is in good shape and overall it runs good. It does have the Boyesen dual stage reeds. Could a reed change make a significant improvement in response? There is no add on flywheel weight. I have thought about shaving weight off of the flywheel but am concerned about making an expensive paperweight. I recently had a 2016 Beta 125 apart. It has a little tiny flywheel and impressive response for a 125.

  3. Hi all, Does anyone know what size the Spherical Bearing is for the lower end of the shock to Linkage Parts manual ( REF: 74 ) simply states Spherical Bearing No sizes.

Having ironed out all the other problems on my new-to-me 2014 Evo 250, my one remaining issue is clutch drag. I dropped the oil level to the bottom of the window and did the “Beta clutch fix”. No change. On closer inspection of the master cyl and lever, I realised that the clutch frees off if pulled in hard against the grip, but under normal riding my middle finger is trapped under the ball-end and stops the lever travelling that far. The lever is adjusted to have less than 1mm free play at the pushrod. However the rod inside the master cylinder moves about 3mm before the load becomes significant, presumably because it has to move that far before it starts pushing ag…

Today I learned the importance of loctite. Since we have a month long layoff for events in July I was going to tear into my shifter mods and check for wear and whatnot after tomorrow’s trial. Well trail riding with my wife and a friend today the EVO started making an ugly sound. Just disassembled the primary drive to find the cam screw backed out and was hitting the rivets on the back of the clutch basket. The good thing is it’s an easy fix. Also the custom indexer still looks great. Bearing is tight. Phew! Lucked out this time. This is why I don’t offer anybody these parts until I’ve run them in for a while. Never know what you’re gonna learn until it happens. (But…

Evening all I have started to delve into the recently acquired 96 Techno's wiring in order to fit the correct fan and thermostat, and to also fit a kill switch as my lad needs the added safety should he become unattached( and me as its been a while). So I have trawled looking for a decent wiring diagram, only finding a fuzzy version that you cannot read the colour codes. I have now courtesy of BVM Moto got a clearer version, but I am still at a bit of a loss. I will attach the diagram, along with my own version of what I have on the bike. Although I have removed the fan that was fitted with a live feed, and earthed as a negative. My question to you m…

Hi all Going to look at a 2017 300 beta factory tomorrow, looking at the pictures it all looks tidy and well looked after. The only thing putting me off is the forks have excessive wear on the stations, they are meant to be black but bottom couple of inches are all rubbed down to silver. Is this a sign of excessive use or is it normal to have so much wear after 2 years? Just wondering as if it is excessive wear this will mean it will be a very high hours bike and may have other issues going forward? Any thoughts appreciated Cheers

Just thought I'd share my photo of the day! I've been reading up on methods to clean out my pipe of my Rev3 (I noticed a bit of smoking recently, particularly when riding between sections on a big loop, when the engine was running hot and for a few minutes). I am not losing any gearbox oil and have recently changed mains/seals, so suspected it was the exhaust. I guessed it was a build up of unburnt oil and crap and on examination I think it was the cause (I ride it a bit gently and probably never give it a good enough blast). There was also a fair amount of carbon too. I decided to try the burning method; I started things off with a small blow-lamp and also aimed the hot …

  14. Hi all, Just wondering if anyone else here has installed the Carbon Tech reeds to their Evo 250? I've installed a set but haven't had chance to test yet other than with the bike stationary. In the paperwork supplied with the new reeds it suggests that jetting/tuning may need to be altered. My bike is all standard in terms of idle jet/main jet/needle/needle position. I've spent loads of time in the past messing about with carb settings on various 2 stroke bikes and it's always a tedious and often frustrating process! If anyone has any experience of these reeds and can recommend settings it would be fantastic and a big time and hassle saver! It may be that the air scre…

Hi folks I've got this 2016 evo 80 and it's like the clutch springs struggle to push the fluid back when you release the clutch. It does return but not snappy like it should ,it's like the hose it kinked . It's had a few new hoses and a new master cyl as he crashes a lot but this feels like a slave cyl problem, has anyone had a similar problem? Oh and he doesn't slip the clutch so it's like new. Cheers.

  17. Hi all, can’t seem to find answer on this one. Can I fit a 270 barrel and piston to my 250 bottom end and what else would I need to change for it to work, I am assuming that the jetting in the carb would need changing.

Any Beta experts want to venture a guess as to what happened here. Bike (2014 Beta Evo 300) locked up in third gear. Haven't split the cases yet, so don't know what we will find.
