  3. Started by sy250,

Hi all. I have now bought a 2005 250 pro. Unfortunate user name. I have used the bike about 15 times and the exhaust is starting to get worn by the tyre. Before it is to late is there anybody out there with any tips on this. Any help appreciated.

  4. Started by carman,

Never rode a trials bike until today when BVM in Stroud kindly let me ride a 6 month old bike in their car park. Fantastic - loved it to bits and think I will buy it tomorrow. Stupid or what?! Only other option seems to me to be a new 05 Sherco. There are some discounted bikes around at just a few hundred pounds more than the used 05 Gas Gas. Since I have never ridden before I think it is irrelavent which I buy and I may as well save the money - that is my view. Any body think differently?

  5. 05 GG 125 pro, running backwards, things tested so far and not worked. All electrics changed over from a known good runner, stator plate, flywheel, also took key off crank shaft and repositioned flywheel on shaft to try change timing still same result, anyone any idea what the cause could be. Could the crank be out of time ? only thing that has not been changed and tested yet ?

I'm thinking hard about going from a 03 Mont to a 04 280 PRO, would this be a good year to go with, did they sort out PRO problems? I rode a 03 PRO 280 once and the machine seemed very light and nimble! Maybe 15lbs. lighter than the Mont. So, I may pick up a Pro this fall because they are plentiful right now, and it will be my first gasser. suggetions would be appreciated. sam

  10. Started by moulder,

I have a 2005 Pro 280 and it is not running too well. After a few hours riding the bike will begin to misfire and basically run terrible. The spark plug will be very black and replacing the plug will allow about one hours use before the problem occurs again. If the bike is left to cool down the bike will run fine again on the original spark plug until it is warmed up over around 2 hours use. BVM have no idea what is wrong, and I was wondeirng if anyone on this forum had an idea. I run a moxture of 75:1 on a standard carb on the standard factory carb settings. Any comments welcome

Just got 06 pro, not been on it yet, Has anyone used the switch on the handle bars and found it works? For those who aren't sure what it is (like me) , GG have put a switch on the bars by the throttle with 2 settings. One with the sun shining and the other with rain falling from a cloud. How does it work ? Does it retard the ignition ? I must say it sounds lovely, lets hope it performs like all the others we've had.........PERFECT

  13. Started by big chick,

Mechanically minded I am not so any help greatly appreciated. Ben's Rookie has run fine for a couple of months since I got it, but suddenly stopped straight after starting from cold. It sounded like he ran out of petrol. Put a new plug in and he rode the trial no problem. On to the trailer and two hours home, cleaned it then same again, sounded like he ran out of juice. New plug and away she went. Went to ride it yesterday - no go. Yet another new plug and away she went. The plugs are very black, but I put this down to it being a 70cc. Any ideas or do I just need a large stock of plugs? Thanks Big Chick

I have an o4 200 Pro, the clutch basket seems to be getting increasingly noisy . With the lever pulled in all is quiet and smooth. The engine runs sweet with the clutch in. I know all gassers have some clutch noise but mine is really painfull. Could it be the thrust bearings ,the basket,or may be the kickstart idler gear, any help would be appreciated.

  17. Started by arieltt,

Hello, In the process of stripping my 03 Gas Gas Pro to change a leaking crank seal I found that the coolant was black and oily. It would seem that my water pump is drinking oil as well. I'm amazed that there was any left in the gearbox. So my question - should I flush the radiator before reassembling the cooling system (and if so, with what?)or just fill up with new coolant? New waterpump seal on its way from BVM. Cheers, Tony
