as some of you may know, the new, 2006, gas gas is here. i have been blessed with its charms, and my verdict, UNBELIEVABLE!!!, i really thought that the lads out there in girona had it cracked last year, and then they manage to come up with this. as if the ohlins shocker wasnt enough! theyre jsut spoiling us with the new ignition, and as for the new forks! i just cant see what they can do next year. so, the bike runs as sweet as a nut out of the box, and that shocker is smooth as i dont know what. with a bit of bling added in the form of a keihin carb she gracefully flows through the sections. withe that extra kilo taken from the front you can see immediately that it is …

Hi All. Just recieved the new Keihin PWK 28 for my 03 300 pro. Got it from BVM motos very good deal. Anyone got any fitting instructions, set up procedures. I also bought an additional size 48 pilot as I remember someone else telling me their's used to pink with the standard 45. Anyone got any pictures of theirs fitted with fuelpipe and breather pipe routing. Any help appreciated.

Found the two locking rings on top of the spring on the Ohlins rear shocker had come undone and nearly wound off the thread. Can anyone tell me what the basic starting position should be in terms of position on the thread? Thanks.

Don't know which to go for, had 280 but felt too much at high revs, like 250 pro 2006. Don't like other makes, Mont too much. Rode RTL back in the late 80's. Had a 93 250 and loved it.

I had the barrel measured "properly" today and it read 76mm exactly (280 pro '04 model). The piston measured 75.91mm which gives a distance of 0.09mm (or 0.00354 thou). I have ordered the biggest size piston available (I 've gone up from a "B" size to a "D" size. Can anyone tell me the difference in sizes between the "B" and the "D" pistons. I was told it was 1 thou but now whilst reading info on the american gas gas website I note they mention each size increase is 0.05mm (or 0.002 thou). Therefore if I am going up 2 sizes, that equates to 0.1mm (not 1 thou) and I am worried now that the piston will be too tight in the barrel.

Is anyone able to tell me the proper method of measuring & refilling front fork oil for an 03 pro 250 and an 04 pro 280. I beleive you can measure down from the top of the stanchion tube to the oil level but I am not sure if this is the recommended way. What weight of oil (for both bikes) does anyone recommend. Thanks

I have an 05 280 Pro which Iv been riding pretty much constantly since October. I thought that the fuel tap was leaking but I have now discovered that the fuel is leaking all around the seat area due to the padding aroud the air box and seat being soaked in petrol. The leak is not a hole etc as no fuel visibly leaks but the fuel must seem to very slowly seep out of a weld in that area. Has anyone elso come across this problem? I dont want to have to buy a new tank as that would be loads of cash but I cant exactly weld it up as one it's aluminium and 2, I dont have a tig welder to hand. Cheers Tony

Can anyone tell me the max. clearance between cylinder & piston using a feeler gauge. I have a really annoying rattle which I cannot find. (I don't have access to any proper measuring tools or bike dealers) The bike is a 280 Pro and is a 2004 model. The barrel & piston look in excellent condition (B size) and I have measured the clearance as 4 thou (which is 0.1mm). Is anyone able to tell me if this figure is ok and if not if it is the likely cause of the rattle (piston slap). The rattle is not present until a few seconds after starting (first throttle blip) & does not go away - seems to be worse on closing the throttle. When buying a piston in the uk, do t…

Do i have to replace the seal? any tricks around it as i am pushed for time as i have my first trial in two days. And do you get new pistons in a repair kit? Thanks in advance.
