Just got mine. Hopefully someone with a Raga or knowledge can help. As std is the offset forwards(exposed bolt nearest tank) or backward( bolt nearest front number plate. I realise they are probably reversible but wold like to have them as God Gas Gas intended to start with.... Thanks for help.

Hi there, I took the top fork clamps off my TXT 2000 to tighten up the head bearings and when putting the handlebars back on noticed that the clamps have an offset. I've turned them around so that the bars are a bit further forward to give myself more room (i'm 6'2") but just wanted to know if this is a design feature. Also, is there anywhere i can download a manual please? Cheers, Roy.

...and I have to say I am well impressed! The bike has no problems with any sections that I can ride! Took a bit of getting used to after my TXT280 but you just have to remember to give it a bit more gas! Plus it feels so much lighter and more flickable. Very pleased

Ok, Try to keep this one short. Yeah I could call a dealer or something, but dang he's not in today... So.... think Ill Axe about it on here, 1st. Once again 04-300 Pro bike... I have the 'aftermarket' fat-bars (pro taper?) on here, no I cannot recall who's brand? ATM I think they are HEBO, maybe they ain't? But it was before Gasgas did it... As you might guess since it was a conversion, It came with funky clamps, they have really sharp edges where bolts go in... (bought the bike with these already installed and I love the bars lots, BTW) Ok I'm hitting my 'gut' (or Belly) on these to dang much, and its pretty bad bruises. Sure, I could get a pad, but also se…

Can anyone recommend a good cylinder re-chromer? I need to send my one off after last weeks trial. The chrome is off above both side ports but shouldn't be a problem to re-chrome.

Just wanted to know what you guys do on road trials regarding riding with the choke on for the road work. Seem to get various answers regarding this, the majority saying that it should only be needed for SSDT etc ?. Just steady road work, no thottle to the stop stuff. The reason I ask is that after my last road outing, the bike ended up in intensive care, and only after large injections of cash did a full recovery occur !!. As you can imagine I don`t want a repeat performance on my (new to me) Pro.

Can anyone tell me how many links there are in an 02 GG 280 pro chain? I know I can count them but I forgot to last night and want to order a new chain today. 101 links sounds familiar. I was going to order a 110 and cut it. I just want to make sure I order it long enough. Many thanks!

Here is a $1000 (or pound at least in $ per hours labor to find) Sure someone here will say, I knew that... FREAKY problem I had... cheap, fix it for pennies. My 04 gasgas 300 Pro (main culprit is the carb anyhow so might be related... for others hard start or running funny?) stock carb I discoverd the cause just sunday morning at the 2 day event, after it finally left me stranded on saturday, far from the truck as possible... Background... I've suspected & concluded that I've had this problem seemingly off and on for months... Anyway my bike would run when warmed up, as if lean, but only slightly and only at higher revs, but was really only apparent a…

Just wondering if the spacers in the back of an 05 pro's rear wheel should be slightly different in size as mine are both exactly the same. The reason i ask is my disk runs extremely close, pretty much on the right hand side of the caliper instead of running central .Just worried that this may cause uneven brake wear or other complications in the future!!

Hi guys , new start needs a few pointers - re my Gas Gas 280 TXT 03 edition , how often should I be changing the gear oil ? After a days riding what are the main points that I should be paying attention to ? So far , after a blast with the pressure washer , Ive been lubricating the chain , spot of lube in the brake and clutch lever pivots , peg and gear lever pivots . Ive sprayed around the carb / plug with wd40 to aviod moisture ingress , am I correct in saying that the fuel mix is 50:1 ? - any more hints or tips that you can give me re maintemenace would be most apprecaited? Thanks in advance - Barry

I'm new to trials, but have lots of experience in Enduro's and have a gas gas ec 300, after spending a bit of time on my mates yr 2000 txt 280 edition I fancy getting a bike of my own to play on and to do a few trials on when I'm not doing the enduro's. I have seen a 04 300 pro for sale in the tmx local to me. What I want to know, will it be too much of a bike for me and pull my arms off or are they more like a tractor with smoooth power low down? would you guys recommend me buying one or waiting for a 250? Any help would be much appreicated. Oh here's me on the Enduro bike Many thanks Rob

Hello, When I bought my bike used the seller commented that he had put one stiffer spring in, and gave me the stocker. After riding the bike a bit I've decided I need to put the stocker back in. After pulling the caps and mic'ing the springs it looks like the right one needs to be swapped. What is the easiest way to remove the spring from the cartridge rod? There seems to be too much preload to push it down and get a wrench on the rod holder... so do I remove the whole cartridge from the bottom? The gasgas.com shop and parts manuals don't seem to be working. It would be nice to have an exploded view. What do other people do? Thanks, Wardo
